2008 Cammed Z06 Closed vs. Open Exhaust Comparison - Video
In this comparison, you will hear a cammed 2008 Z06 at startup, idle, and revving with the factory exhaust fuse installed and removed. In back to back dyno runs, peak numbers varied by 12 RWHP and 14 RWTQ by removing the fuse.
With the fuse removed, the vehicle picked up power across the board and substantial power down low where it's normally closed.
3,000 RPMs - Picked up 12 RWHP / 25 RWTQ
3,500 RPMs - Picked up 23 RWHP / 34 RWTQ
Up top it picked up 10 RWHp / 10 RWTQ.
Mods are:
Livernois Motorsports Stage 2 LS7 Camshaft
Livernois Motorsports Dual Valve Springs
Halltech Cold Air Intake System
Kooks Longtube Headers
Kook's X-Pipe w/ Cats

Thanks for the info but I guess I don't understand how it picked up 10 hp on the top end. Whether the fuse is pulled or not the butterflies are open past approximately 3500 rpm. Should be no difference above this rpm. What am I missing?

Might be worth a look on the next one you get in. My 08 LS3 might have the same problem. Without putting it on a dyno it's kinda hard to tell if they are open running along behind it at WOT! LOL!

Thanks Rick. The graph does a great job illustrating how much power was picked up, especially in the 3000-4000 rpm range. Nice gain everywhere but from 3-4 K she's got a monster gain in power under the curve. All that just from pulling a fuse. I need a 2008 c6zo6 LOL.

If you ever want to confrim repeatability with this test, Rick, make sure to let me know and I will be more than happy to provide you with my car. Heck, I need to dyno my car anyways.
