Best Cam for stock 02 C5 Z06
Whats the best cam for an 02 Z06 that I want to leave completely stock otherwise and be streetable? This will be a summer only car. Also what kind of numbers could I produce. Ive seen and researched a lot of cam only Fbodies but Im curious what would be best for the LS6 heads and upgraded valvetrain of the C5 Z06s. Thanks!

Loved my X1 in my 02Z. 420ish to the ground with longtubes and a vararam.
Here's a link to a guy selling one and a vid of his on the dyno.

i am going to install LG's G5x1E cam down the road. I talked to anthony/lg many times about what i wanted out of my car. I am going with a vararam, LG pros, and the G5x1E cam. I want my car setup for 75% street and 25% open track events. Max power is not my main concern so a med to large cam is not for me. I want lots of low/mid range power and good street manners. Anthony advised i could add a fast 92/90 combo and AFR heads to my combo down the road. He advised that the G5x1E cam would work great with that setup for my needs.

We have used this Comp camshaft in a lot of builds with very good results. An automatic will need a stall converter but with a manual it is an excellent camshaft for everyday use. Bob
Description of COMPETITION CAMS 54-428-11
LS1/LS6 XTREME RPM HIGH XR281HR
Rpm operating range 2200-7200
228/230 .571/.573 112lsa
Hydraulic roller
High Rpm street strip camshaft for use with LS6 or aftermarket intake, Computer tuning required.
The XFI camshafts feature wider lobe separation for decreased overlap, yielding a more efficient combustion process. The XFI lobe profiles were designed to work in conjunction with recent valve train technology advancements, including COMP's Super Clean Beehive valve springs and increased ratio Pro Magnum rocker arms, thus delivering faster valve openings and closings while maintaining complete valve train control. Additionally, the XFI camshafts take advantage of the high velocity EFI-style cylinder head intake ports, intake manifolds and combustion chamber designs. The result: dramatic improvement in performance and durability for today's fuel injected engines.

I would just buy an intake and longtubes and be done with it.... That will put you in the 38xrwhp range and should be more then enough.
I have an Z06 with just a Halltech intake and its a blast with just 362rwhp, so....

I commute 60 miles a day in stop and go traffic. I am running the Polluter cam, Kooks long tubes, and vararam intake. All going through stock ti mufflers. Car put down 433 RWHP and 393 TQ. Cam is amazingly streetable in my opinion. But I have a great tuner. I can still run in 6th gear at 50 mph no problem. And I only get cam surge on cold start ups. Once it warms up the car will pull in second from a dead stop no problem.
You do plan on doing Long Tubes right? If not dont bother with a cam as it will be a lot of money wasted for very little gain.
