Default Car wont hook

unloading bad lost the bog and is unloading and spinning half way down the 60 best time was a 12.104 @118.31mph 60 was 2.042 and 1/8th was 7.940 @ 93.81 let me know when to take that rain check i will go with to 41 and play around with the set up.Dumping at 5500 and 5200.

Working on getting the vid up for this run.

last time it ran ---Went up to Great lakes dragway last night and ran a 11.91 @ 118 with a 1.71 60 foot car ran really good but bogged badly after dumping the clutch every time. i was dumping the clutch at about 5000 to 5200 think i need to go more but i am still happy for the first time out

This was my 11.91 Run

I am looking into QA1 drag set up sick of the hit or miss i want hook and book.

Put some 4.10 gears in it and it should go bottom 11's and maybe under perfect conditions a 10.90.

Congrats.

Definitely gear it but what tires are you running? The gears are only going to hurt you traction-wise, although it'll make you take off like a raped ape if you can hook up compared to those 3.42s.

3.89 is fine but I was going by your signature that said you were running 3.42s I would run a 26x11.50x15 in slick if your going to run on motor and if your planning on spraying later run a 28x10.50. Problem solved

You doing a first or second gear burnout? I notice a big difference going to second gear burnouts with these 26 x 10.5 x 16 ET Streets. 60's got consistent in the 1.6s launching at 5000 RPM. Tried a 6500 dump for the hell of it and spun a LOT, but still hit a 1.69.

My set-up is very similar to yours. I too battled the launch. Best for me so far is dump at 5500-6000 on the DRs and hold on. I have my LCAs in the stock hole. When I went to the bottom hole the car would hit the tires hard and then unload. Best 60 for me on the 2756015 MTDRs is 1.60. My car is 3600+lbs. I am surprised your car does not trap higher. 118 seams low for your dyno numbers. Mine traps 119+ with less power (at least on the same type of dyno) in worse air. If the car keeps bogging, keep upping the RPM on launch. I still am learning my set-up and it will take time for you to dial in technique and suspension.

I think its traping low from the bog cuz if it spins i let off cuz it's right in the rev limiter and if it bogs it just falls on its face

what shocks?
What psi in the tires when you launch?
burnout procedure?
torque arm?
pinion angle set to?
How are you sure what you are launching at RPM wise? eyeballing it?
What type tire (ET Drag, ET Street, M&H, drag radial, etc)

Just a few things I need to know to give you my advice....

Even on a bog, the car should trap close to where it can. But sounds like you may be shifting early. Shift at about 6800. You want to be a couple hundred RPM past your peak.

I really think you need to put the LCAs in stock hole. I use the same tire and similar suspension. I have a trans mount TA with BMR TA relocation trans mount. -3* is a bit low for all your suspension. -2 would be better IMO but is not the major issue here. 14-15psi cold is good. Are you seeing smoke in the mirror? You want to get a decent about of smoke. No need to screen the box, just so you are seing smoke in your side vew for a second or two.

My opinions.....

shocks definitely need to be replaced..... double adjustables preferably.... hooking on a radial is all about tire control and those stock shocks ain't gonna cut it.... Pressure is good.... burnout procedure good.... I"d say that's too much negative pinion angle... I'd go -1 to -2 max.... Try leaving at the same RPM everytime. Get a 2 step with a button (since you don't have a transbrake)..... YOu want to leave at WOT everytime on a limiter so you always leave at the same RPM..... more rpm = more likely to spin cuz you're hitting the tire harder... so when trying to sort out your suspension you can't compare cuz one pass you might launch at 5000 and another at 5500 or so... apples and oranges.....

so you need a 2 step and some shocks..... and another ta adjustment....
