Default Finally got the #'s on the 383 mustang coupe.

I made it out tonight for some base line #'s and to get the susp figured out a little. Luckily I had a chassis guy with me who set the car up last weekend. If not for him it would have not worked this well right out of the gate.

I ran a few 1/8 mile passes to get the feel of what the car was going to do. It cut mid to high 1.4's and ran a few 6.60's 1/8 mile at 103 to 104mph.

Then we set the trans break at 3000 and ran it out the back to a best of 10.28@129mph. It cut a 1.41 and went 6.51 to the 1/8 at 105mph.

Yeah, I am pleased with that for the first time out. It is right at what I thought it should do. It was rich according to my lc-1, 11.0:1 at the traps. I did not check the plugs to confirm. My wideband was reading different than the one on the dyno last weekend.

The car weigh's 2820 with me in it. See sig for the rest of the setup.

Congrats on some great times right out of the gate man.

I'm guessing that you're shooting for some high 9s with the car?

I think with more seat time and some more adjustments, and good air, it has 9.90's in it.

4.56 gear and 28" tire. Going through the traps at around 7500 rpms.

Thanks on the props guys. I was stoked.

pull some gear out of it and I bet it'll wake up even more. If your mph goes up anymore you'll run out of rpm quick.

At 7500rpms on a 383, you've gotta be running out of the powerband of even an MS4, no? Have a dyno chart?

I didn't get a copy of the graph. But it only put down 424rwhp and was rich at 11.0:1 a/f.

She was still pullin at 7500. Not as hard but it was pullin.

yes. and allow you to run more trap speed as well. big gears limit your top end.
