Yup, the truetrac with ring gear is really heavy 57.5. I almost couldn't catch it when it came out off the lift last year when I put the 430s in at newera. Then when I pulled it in the garage at my parents on jackstands, it was hard to do lower it to the ground nice on your back. I'll see if I can zoom in on ant pics I took, I weight ther spool on the N20 scale at newera when I put the ring gear on the spool and used the press to put the bearings on it. And wrote with a shapie on the side spool. but off the listed weights is was 32.8#s really.

Talking to the Nashville guys, I guess there's an '01 SOM Z28 running in the 10s, cam only. Sounds like you might have to race him, Johnny!

Congrats to both you and Rob on your new PBs!!! I've been fallowing both of your cars for a while now. Hopefully I'll be running with you guys next year with a bigger cam and a little more weight reduction.

There is not much more weight I can drop. I'm going to run Speed Inc's SI6 cam next year.

I'm not sure on my exact weight. I need to weigh it next time I'm at the track. My problem is that I don't want to cut the car up. I want to be able to return it to stock. My weight ruduction list includes.

A/C stuff (Compressor, condensor, accumulator, lines)
AIR/EGR
Stereo (Head unit, amp, speakers)
Steering wheel and airbag (Replaced with MOMO)
Drivers seat (Replaced with a Corbeau)
Pass., rear seats, and belts
Insulation
ABS
TC/Cruise
Front and rear bumper supports
Spare tire/Jack
Spintech muffler w/mufflex tailpipe removed at the track
Billet Streetlites

No offense but the car should be faster than that as it is? I wouldnt spend a bunch of effort/$$$ getting it lighter and work on lining what you have out My junk for example still has all airbags, ABS, all stock interior, rear bumper support etc etc, just have some seat time in it. Went from 11.3s first time out to 10.8x without changing one part

Good job you're flying. I'm always following these post and have always wanted to try it.

I'll be taking a shot at it next year with a Jerico behind it. I'm buying a brand new gm longblock. I'll prolly do a custom cam and give it a shot. Can't wait!
