best mod for an a4 is a stall...
as far as those brakes will hold it...

Completely agree........Hands down best mod I did to my car. Yeah I noticed with aftermarket cam, the car does not like at all to be stalled low or flashed from idle. I have to footbrake it high as it will hold. When I was stock internals the car loved to be flashed from idle....dunno prob has to do with the prower band with cam being moved up.

mail order should be fine set it at 6200-6300 and rev a few 100 higher...you will be golden...

yeah i have it set at that already with my handheld, i might just run the converter tuned with handheld until i can afford to take it to texas and get it dynotuned.....and so ur saying leave from idol with stock cam ? then launch different with aftermarket, i think im just gonna have to get it and try different launches..

3600 stall on a stock tranny here. IMO it's probably the best et for the buck mod out there for an A4 car. Maybe it's because I'm running a smaller cam but the sweet spot for my 60fts is at 1500rpm. Best bet is to screw with the launch until you find what works.
I used to be dead set against a stall. I had the wrong idea about them all together, but from here on out it'll be one of the first mods I do.

i talked to dave at Yank, described my car and situation and he said my best bet being a stock internal full bolt on car is to run the PT4400, He told me with that stall and a full dynotune i could expect a second off my time. He also said when i get a cam and am throwing down some more power he will re-stall it to an SS4000 for free...i am very excited and he was a great guy to talk to ! really knows his stuff. Anyone have good expiriences with the PT4400 ?

I loved the PT4400 and had great success with it, but Chrs1313 had amazing success with the SS4000. Almost seems backwards to start with a PT then go to an SS. Maybe because you're going for a max effort setup?

he said the SS4000 was more for a cam car or heads cam car puttin down alot more power than my car, he said the PT4400 would be perfect because im nto puttin down that much power and after i get a cam and am in the 400+ horsepower i will restall to the SS4000

I am also a ss3600 a4 guy. 11.84@113 w/ full bolt-ons and stock 60,000 mile tranny. 1.58 60ft mine does like to be stalled to about 2500rpms. Hands down the best mod for stock car. Also, don't forget about a good tranny cooler.
