Got to test out my new 4c stall converter
Ok so got to go to 1/8th today and give this stall a shot! Here are my mods...
stg1 livernois ls6 heads, ls6 intake, tr220 cam, LPP headers, magnaflow exhaust, slp lid, circle d 4c stall (stock trans), hotchkis springs with slp bilsteins. Dyno was ~370 rwhp mustang dyno.
This stall seems like it likes to be launched just off idle. With the et streets it just ***** and gets. No spinning, which kind of surprised me with a lowered suspension. Anyways heres the run down of my 2 runs after i figured out where to launch this stall.
60' 1.689
330' 4.975
660' 7.746 @ 88.58 mph
60' 1.724
330' 5.012
660' 7.785 @ 88.41 mph
I was wanting atleast a 7.9 minimum... figured id get a 7.8 an a 7.7 would be the best i would expect. So i come away happy grabbing a 7.7! heres my previous best same exact mods except for the stall.
60' 2.079
330' 5.584
660' 8.411 @ 87.55 mph
So by just changing the stall the picked up .665 seconds in the 1/8th off of my previous best. If i go off the average of my previous runs its over .7 tenths. Stock stall was holding me back juuuust slightly. Also picked up 1mph which im not gonna complain about... especially since everyone said you might go slower mph with the et streets bias ply.
So you think thats good or just slow. BTW car is full weight+ 6'5" big *** driver.. haha down to the spare tire and jack...
Next up is to get the EPS 226 234 cam in there and see what gains i get with that. 7.40's??? That would be nice.

its a 3600-3800. I was wanting a 1.60 but i guess it just didnt happen today. I gotta get the car weighed im sure its probably close to 3900 pound race weight. I gotta pull some weight out of it. I also had heavy torque thrusts 2's on the front. I dont know if the lighter stock rims out front would make much if any difference.

What was the temp and weather like? You picked up .6tenths in the 1/8th which comes out to over 1 second in the 1/4 which is an awesome gain for just a converter. Pull some weight, wait until it cools off and go get some lower 11 second 1/4mile times. Good luck.;

DA is around 900ft. The car made around ~370-375rwhp on a mustang dyno unlocked stock converter. I mean its only a 220 cam .550 lift.. Car is full weight plus a 6'5" 300 pound driver... lol not a lightweight.
biasply... got a steal on them. 250 for rims and tires almost brand new. But if i were to buy new i think i would still go with the biasply.. they are a little easier on everything as the tire will give in the sidewall. radials are better handling for the street. the biasplys are definitely not for cornering...

what do you mean by the bias ply hurt your times? I have heard this before, but with the biasply + stall i picked up 1mph in the 1/8th. wonder what i would have run with radials

Dont get me wrong...the biasply deff hook. They are good but after seeing results on my own car I believe a radial is better if you can get them to hook. I didnt have any traction issues with these radials. They proved to stick just as well as the biasply. Now thats not saying they will be better for someone who is making alot more power than me but I believe as long as you can get traction they will always be better than a biasply time wise.

Before I tried any et streets radials or biasply I heard from a few people that the biasply wouldslow me down because theres more drag in those tires. I though that was the most rediculous thing I ever heard. Well, last week I bought some biasply and went to the track. I first few passes I had my street tires on and ran 13.087. Then I swaped the tires to the biasply. I was only getting 13.2xx. and mph was down. After that I thought there was something to what people told me. So I decided to get the radial et version. Well,I went up 2 nights ago with the radials and ran consistant 13.0xx and 13.1xx. I also hit 107mph for the first time ever.

Also now that you have the tires do yourself a favor and put a stall into that thing!!

weird.. because when i tried the biasplies on my car with the stock converter i still ran the same 8.4 as i did with street tires.. Im sure on the big end in the 1/4 the higher rolling resistance would probably come into effect more.

Nice times by the way I envy your 60's seeing how I cant go lower than 2.xxx with my stock converter
