Very interesting build Dave. Are you going to the lsx shootout? I'd like to see the car in action.

Is there any special bearings for the cam or rods/mains? Seems like it would kill bearings in a short time.
Are the pistons coated on the sides?

Pretty good results, but why would you use such a small arm to build a 347? 8second car with a 4" stroke in it, some class or something?

going to compete with these rules..
http://www.nashootout.com/drrules.htm

Had the block at cost from a builder, guy backed out of the build.
The crank is a Magnum XL custom from Callies, they had a run of them built for a road race deal, that went belly up. Crank cost $400 for a $2800 crank.
Had the car at race weight for this class needed a 346, did not want to add the weight for a bigger motor....
should be bottom 9's at high 140's when sorted out...

Should have some good numbers soon...

Are the heads on the car legal for that class? I TFS215 or AFR 225?

Dave is a resourceful guy, his first combo went 9.9's with a seriously low-buck setup:

Dave, was Mikey involved in this build too?

Hey John,
Great to hear from you!
I got the block from Mikey, the rest is all me. :-)
I have resolved the lean transition issue, looking forward to some testing.
The heads are LS7 based, legal for the class.

Impressive to say the least. I would like to drive a car that leaves@7k+rpms. My old heap leaves@4500rpm but still pulls the wheels. LOL

Been working on dialing in the carb.
I finally got it to flash to converter stll last night...it was past 8PM and the dew was starting, bleww the tires off had to short shift 1-2, lifted at the 1/8the mph was 117...
Can't wait now to get out on a good day with a good track..
It went 145 with air fuel at 15/1.... added 2 jets all around..I thought it was powerful before the jet change.....
stay tuned
