9.66 True Street Car 6spd

Actually the only reason it had c16 be tank was because I was running out of gas at the track and all I had was c16 to put back in it. Trust me with the tuneup in the car it would have done the same on 93 octane. As for the fuel cell, it's cheap insurance to keep higher octane in there for the nitrous.
Also I didn't even trailer the car to the track! I drove it 80+ miles to the track and 80+ miles home with my slicks jack and tools in the trunk! I had a spare set of wheels that my dad brought later in the day in his truck.
I drive the car everywhere and ran 10.37 on motor with 93 octane in the tank!

hey man I'm cool with it.....I just don't like race gas. It cost to much and for a street car it does'nt make sense to use a gas that limits how far you can drive you car. That's a good running car you have.

I hope my post didn't come off as being a ******** cause that's not the way I meant it to be. I'm all about going fast with pump to. I was just forced to run it cause it's all I had at the track. When I left I pulled into the gas station and filled up with some Shell 93!
The fuel cell doesn't use much fuel at all so it's fairly economical to keep it full of C16 and make the motor happy when I flip the nitrous switch. But the nitrous fuel supply is completely separate from the stock fuel system running the engine. It's a small 1 gallon cell under the hood running carb pressure dedicated to the nitrous.

We had problems on ET streets also they do like to dance. I found that the 11.5's mounted on a 8" rim didn't work well at all. We went to a 10" on the same rim and it's alittle better. I was told to run the stiff side walled slicks also. We are trying to run a 18'' drag radial at the present time. Your car is really moving for the HP that you are making. Gotta luv driving to the track and changing tires, and in your case running 9's

Thanks Brian! I really wish you could have gotten in some more runs and that'll be brought up at our meeting about the rules for the next event. I think once yours gets hooked and will shift going down the track it'll be a beast! Good seeing you the other day also.
I'd like to strap mine on some other dyno's to get a comparison, but I know it's making some good power to trap almost 132mph.

I'm prolly going back a week from now to try it again. Maybe try to lean on the tuneup a little more and get more aggressive on the launch. It did show the trap on one nitrous pass and that was the very first one that I didn't spray til 40-60' out. It did 140.9 on a 10.29 pass so I'd say it was in the low-mid 140's on the 9.66 pass. That's the biggest reason I want to go back so I can back that pass up for one and actually get a trap speed with the times slip.

Yeah I have. Changed intakes mid season and then needed a cam change due to that and tinkering with other small things here and there along the way. I've learned it's not the big parts that make them fast it's all the small details that make use of those big parts to get down the track faster.
