The car didn't seem to leave good but on the seventh pass. It may have more in it. Nice job.. Try a 200 shot

Haha I don't know how... I plan to have one put in this winter during the off season. I'd like to come out to some of those UMTR races this next year pending work doesn't keep me from it.

Man this car is a beast. Watched it at the shootout. Had to leave before the 9.66 pass. But congratulations on it. I loved seeing the stock bottom end 6.0 in the Ta. Your the reason i done the 6.0 in mine.

Thanks guy's! I plan on tweaking on the car some this Friday at the track. May jet it up from the 150 to a 200 and shoot for some lower 9's. I feel it has a 9.50 in it on the 150 shot with a little more tweaking.

I've been talking with some of the nitrous guru's on yellowbullet and they seem to trust my wideband readings on the run's. Both widebands showed 10.7-10.8afr (which is horrible) however the plugs showed that it wasn't nearly that rich. Evidently my plugs were too hot and were cleaning themselves off so the fuel ring was basically burning off. I was running some BR7EF's on these run's cause i didn't figure a little 150 shot would really need much colder plug but guess I was wrong. I have a bunch of heat range 9 plugs to go in it at the track so I can lean on the fuel a little more and possibly put a little more timing back in it. I'll keep everyone updated.

Well I took the car back with a little different tune up and did match my best times and surpassed it slightly however the track prep was horrible and couldn't get the car to bite off the line. So I know it's got more left in it since I did a worse 60' and still went faster. I have some pretty killer in car video from my buddies GoProHD camera mounted on my nitrous bottle.

Here are the video's I've got...

First Pass 9.66@142
ShorTuning Camaro 11-19-2010

Second Pass 9.64@143
ShorTuning Camaro 11-19-2010

In Car GoProHD 9.64@143
Can ya say sideway's in 3rd!!!

Bad *** bro! That in car vid was pimp. You just need some lighting in the car or another one during the day so we can see some better shifting action!

It looked like the car was all over the place in the first couple gears. Were you still on the non stiff sidewall ET Drags ?

Yeah these are the regular MT ET Drag's 28x10.5. The track was absolutely horrible though so I don't think it was my setup sucking but more so the track sucking.

Yeah next year I'll def have a dome light or something to light the cabin up a little to where you can see something.

I think had it not been spinning all over the place it's possible it had a .50 in it.

All the tracks here are closed now so it'll be spring time before I can get back. Beech Bend is open this weekend but with the holidays I'm tied up.

I'll bring it back out next season with another stage of nitrous more than likely and def have a cage in it as well.

Who in the hell says that it has to run on pump gas to be a "true street car"?

A street car is designated by the legality of the car ie. turn signals, seatbelts, horn, wipers, mufflers, how drivable the car is on the street does it overheat or not. These are defining factors not what kind of fuel it runs on. NMCA, NMRA and many other racing sanctioning bodies have had "true street" classes for over 15 years and have never had a rule that the cars run on pump gas. The only sanctioning body that has a rule like that is the Pump gas Drags.

Nice runs by the way. Its nice to someone who can actually drive a stick car.

ME....Say it with one time RACE gas = Race car. See the similarities. I'm not saying you can't have a race car on the street. To me nothing should be done to a "street" car that limits it's mobility / fuctionality on the "street" as race gas does. I personally won't run anyone I know is on race gas as I truly can and have drove my camaro anywhere in the country I needed to go. Props to op for fast stick car.

Sorry no new updates. I actually sold the motor out of the car this winter and am currently in the middle of another motor build only with boost this go around. I'm starting off with a stock sleeve 347 LS1 with some 317 heads and a couple 70mm turbo's but eventually I'll get the bigger motor done which will be an ERL SD1 427 w/ twin 88's. The later will probably come next season sometime, I'm trying to get the 347 together now kind of as a junkyard build to get through this season and have a little fun with.

On the topic of race fuel.... the first couple run's I did was on 93 octane... the SEPARATE fuel cell had some renegade fuel in it but who wouldn't keep good gas in the separate tank? I drove this car 2hrs swapped the slicks on and ran 9.60's multiple times then left the track and stopped at the Shell station and pumped some 93 octane into the tank (which was only because I was low on the 93 octane already in the tank).

If you think cause I had some race gas in my separate cell means it's a race car whatever. This car doesn't even have a cage in it. The only thing from the factory that either isn't there or doesnt work is the ABS, A/C and the airbags (which were blown when I got the car).

I really enjoyed watching the vids.

Your car sounds NASTY on the launch control. I want to throw that launch control box on my setup soon. Keep it up man, that car is a badass street car.

Edit - Didn't realize until now that this thread is a little old.
