Default 6.99@97 in the 1/8th stock shortblock!

I've been reading this board for years and finally decided to make my first thread. I took my 2001 SS Camaro to the local 1/8 mile track (CFRC) in Orlando, FL. The car has a stock shortblock, MS3, PRC 2.5 heads, Ported Fast 92/92, EWP, A4 with a Vig 3600, 12 Bolt 4.10's, M/T 295/55/15, Formato SD Tune, and weighs 3325 with me. A couple of weeks ago I ran 7.18 but the car kept twisting up pretty hard on the drivers side and felt sloppy taking off. I swung by TRZ's shop and picked up an anti roll bar and my 60' went from 1.58 best to a 1.52 consistantly on the same tire. Now I plan to work on my front suspension because it's still stock and get some DA Stranges for the rear. Hopefully with some further weight reduction and some more suspension I can chop down these times even further. Thanks to anyones thread that I've previously received good information from, because without this board I would be in the dark. Thanks to TRZ Motorsports for giving me good deals on my rear suspension parts. Thanks to Jeremy Formato for tuning my car for hours on the dyno and then hours on the street.

I don't know the track's timeslip only gives reaction, 60 ft, 1/8 MPH, and 1/8 ET. It's a nice track that hasn't been open long and only 8 cars showed up last night.

Thanks! I'm headed to Orlando Speedworld tomorrow for a Funday Sunday and I'm crossing my fingers for a 10 second timeslip. I'll let you know how it goes.

I was robbed!! I took the car to Orlando Speedworld today and ended up only getting two passes. The best one was:

60' 1.524
330 4.494
1/8 7.005
MPH 97.27
1000 9.182
1/4 11.011
MPH 123.44

I'm very happy to get a quarter mile run in but looks like I will be heading back Friday night. I have a Chris1313 Non AC ram air setup sitting on my shelf I'm going to install and see if that shoots me in the 10's

Thanks! Hopefully it goes in the 10's on Friday night. If it does I'm going to start deciding on a possible TH400 swap with a bigger converter.

Chrs1313 RA will help and if you plan to stay NA I would go with an SS4000 to experience some 1.4x 60's

Wow you are giving me hope of knowing that my car can run 10's, you should be in the high 10's with that 6.9 1/8th mile time.

My car made 429 unlocked at Proven Power in Tampa when Formato tuned it. I think the automatic and the 12 bolt with 4.10's ate up some of the power. I don't know if those horsepower calculators are accurate but using my weight and times it says I'm averaging 480.

Where is this 1/8 mile track in Orlando? I moved away in late '09 and have never heard of it. Been to OSW a zillion times though.

The track is really close to OBT and Central Florida Parkway. If you're traveling North on OBT make a right at Central Florida Parkway, a left at Rocket Rd, an immediate right back on to Central Florida Parkway, then a left on to Cosmonaut Blvd. It's literally a mile away from where everyone use to street race at on Rocket Rd.
