First time down the 1/4 need advice
SO recently picked up a 1999 camaro ss. Its a one owner florida car, With 137,000 miles on it factory "performance" exhaust from SLP. No lid, No free mods and eagle f1 275 40zr17s all the way around my first ever run at a track. Times are as followed
1st pass ever at the track
13.7 at 105.8 mph
2.3 60 foot
2nd pass
13.6 at 106mph with a 2.2 60 foot.
I feel like the trap speeds should be good enough for low 13's im 6'3 315lbs
so that is working against me
My question is the 60 foots suck..but i feel like on the eagle f1 tires im launching it as good as it will get without tearing the tires off..its partly bogging down. I know my rear end makes a little noise at 65+mph which is common for alot of 10 bolts who have been down the track i hear, also was told my rear end sways left to right when i shift but i dont notice from inside the car..i know my rear passenger shock makes a little noise. I have a set of radials and a smaller driver. Would you guys risk the rear end..or do you think with stock gearing and a smaller driver will the rear end hold up if launched correctly? If so what do you think a guesstimate time would be with tires.
Thanks for reading

Despite the rear end issue, getting the time u want you are gunna have to get outa the hole quicker. A 2.2 60' wont do it. You could replace the rear end now, or race it and see if it holds. Before anything i would get it on jackstands and see if anything looks off back there. and honestly i would go back to the track and practice more before resorting to another driver. I know my first time at the track wasnt the best.

That track in your picture looks familier. Kil-Kare?
I've made alot of passes there with my 10 bolt and
have gone 1.44 60" with hoosiers. But of
course I have a YANK PT4000 tc.
You need to look under your car to make
sure everything is tight and solid.
What kinda tire are you thinking of putting
on the car? If your afraid of breaking the rear
my suggestion would be to use Nittos. They
will spin a little then hook up. I'll be selling my
4:11 geared 10 bolt in the next couple of weeks
if your interested. Shoot me a pm Larry

Yes that was kilkare on 4/21 last thursday. There was a couple nice ws6 cars up there. After watching the m6 drivers up there I felt like i did good ...i was going to use et streets i think its just the pinion gear. Its internal and is barely noticable unless you turn your head back and listen to it.
Also How much would you want for that 10 bolt. is it 3 or 4 channel?

Yes. I ran a 13.5/106 when my car was stock. I probably could've gotten it quicker with practicing, but it was just too quiet. I got a Borla cb and did some free mods and ran a 13.2/107. I then got a lid and dyno tune and I ran a 13.0/109. What's holding me back is the stock clutch and worrying about breaking the 10 bolt. I now have a spare 10 bolt with 4.10's so I may be more aggressive my next time at the track.

Figure the video of the run may help explain my habbits. Sadly didnt get the 13.6 at 106 on film but i got the 13.6 when i missed 4th, two runs are missing but oh well.
