Default new PB in the 1/8th

Ran my new best last nite in the 1/8th. I really think it will get a little better with some cooler temps. It a 99 camaro 223/227 cam, some lightly hand ported 5.3 heads, 4l60e with a yank pt4000, 3:73 gear, and some racestars.
If the the pic is crappy it goes like this

1.51 60ft still on stock 10bolt
1/8th 7.22
1/8mph 94.33

thanks, not sure on the hp numbers never been on a dyno. I got a buddy that got a 7.30 pass of it and I will see if he can post it. It maybe later due to hes on vacation. yea I figure the 10 bolt is a ticking time bomb but hopefully soon I will be looking into a 12bolt.

Nice man.. Weird though.

I ran 7.31@94.5 1.50 short time. I wonder where your extra tenth came from? I'm going to assume that its that smaller cam making some nice mid range power.
Our setups are very very close together, or when I made that pass they were.
I did spin just a TAD on my pass.. Nitrous tune as well, running on motor. Da was around 2200+.

226/228 .588 114
Hand ported 317
Ls6 intake
Kooks 13/4 kook ory magnaflow with cutout
Ptc 4000
373s
Pro stars, sold those.. my race stars will be here this week!

Race weight was around 3450, I weigh 175 or so.

Just caught my attention is all. Nice best!!

thanks man, yea mines not tuned for nitrous. The tenth was prob cause of the weather it was actually kinda cool that nite. I do want to run a kit one day but keep hearing my stall isnt built for spray. Yank says it will blow thru it and not sure if I would pick up much spraying a 100 shot. I would at least like to do a 150

the yank PT converter is probably better than the precision.

I would say that is where it was then.. The weather on my low 7.3 passes was around 8X degrees so it definitely could have been better. DA was around 2200.

I would try it.. My buddy was running a Vigilante 4000 (known to be a bit loose) and sprayed a 175 hit on it regularly. Picked up just at a full second in the 1/8. I'm sure he could have benefited from a converter more geared towards a large shot, but it did fine.
I will be spraying a 150 hit through mine.

And people say us small cam guys can't get it done!

Are you comparing our converters? I run a PTC, not a precision. Yank is a tad better performing than a Vig in my experience.. Vig *sometimes hits a bit harder but lacks quite a bit n efficiency compared to Yank.

I have a slightly better 60' and slightly higher mph.. Not much on either one, might as well be identical.. But I also had a hint of wheel spin, nitrous tune, 2200+DA.
I like Yank quite a bit but from my experience they don't build quite as good performing converter. It is close, but just shy.

you could always send it in for a restall, but it would suck to give up on motor, that 1.51 is very nice for that raceweight.

My other suggestion would be to check with other vendors. Talking with Greg at FTI, his advice is different. Sub 200 shot cars can utilize a N/A converter just fine. Unfortunately I cant back up the claim since ive had issues with my nitrous system

"vigilante" converters are made by precision industries.
