Default Slow Times? 1/8 mile / A4 Trans Am

Normal for a stock car? 99 Trans Am A4/3.23 gears/LS1
E/T: 9.219
Trap: 79.49
60 Foot: 2.187

Every run was around the same time/trap. I was pretty much dead hooking also, I had it in 3rd on all of the runs.

Pretty close to what a stock car should run. Have you done all the basic tune up items? Plugs good? Wires? Fuel filter? What kind of gas are you running? Take any extra junk out of the car? Air filter good? What did you 60'? You should be a lot closer to 82-83 at the 1/8.

DA was probably crap. Run it in late fall and hit high 8s @ low 80mph.

Plugs are new, MSD Wires, 93 octane. Air Filter was a oem paper one. 2.164 60'. I recently put a SLP Lid, K&N Filter, and Smooth Bellows on it. I'm getting the cats cut, and flowmaster exhaust put on then a tune tomorrow. I'm going to check the fuel filter, but I am guessing I have to drop the tank?

No, fuel filter is just inside the frame rail by the driver's side rear tire. Don't put the blowmaster exhaust on it. Are you sure all the wires are on? The MSD's don't "click" like a factory wire, or at least mine don't. Have you done the free ram air mod?

Paper filter flows better than k&n, granted both are clean.

Have not done the free ram air mod, and I will go make sure they are on, and I was planning on doing the filter soon I just thought it was in the tank like all my other cars.

Alabama summer can't be much better than it is over here in AR/OK...hot and humid = slow times.

You are probably right on par factoring in the weather.

I'm 20 minutes N of the Bama state line, I run in Huntsville Al... The best DA I have seen to date that I have recorded is 1800+.. On average it is around 2200-2500. I'm going to assume his was 3000+ pretty easily with how stupid humid it has been.

I was dead hooking, no spinning at all. Plus that was right after a 80 mile trip there without cutting the car off.

I need to do plugs and wires a new fuel filter the car has been sitting since the last owner only put 1500 miles on it in 3 years

You need to run the proper fuel, especially in summer and if you intend to beat on it.

Even without knowing the DA, I'd say a little slow. My 2000 formula ran 8.70s at 82-83 mph bone stock in Florida August weather. Granted I was also going 2.06 on the 60 foots and that adds up as you go down the track.

87 octane is just fine for a stock car...

"just fine" sure but the car will almost surely lose power due to running lower timing

especially when it's hot outside and you're putting the engine under heavy loads such as WOT drag launches

GM doesn't recommend premium fuel just for the hell of it

I guess regular oil is also " just fine " as well

Times Seem a little slow. I think DA and that 60ft have a little to do with it. Also is 3rd the same as OD as us? For some reason I run better in OD...
