Default Mustang LS Swap 11.63

I started this project back in December of last year and last night took it out to the track for the first time. It's a 80k mile 5.3L longblock, MS3 cam, comp springs, LS6 intake, Dynatech 1 7/8 headers, custom 3" exhaust, Holley HP EFI, TH-350, FTI converter, built 8.8 running on E85. Race weight is 3114lbs. I kept it simple and only used the footbrake to get used to the car and work out any issues. First pass off the trailer it went 11.73 @ 116.72 with a 1.72 60'. Next pass nearly identical 11.74 @ 116.71 with a 1.73 60'.

Last run I added 2* of timing and leaned it out a hair and went a 11.63 @ 116.98 with a 1.69 60'. Converter stalls at 4200 so it feels fairly lazy on motor the first 60 or so feet. I'll get the two step ready for the next trip out and leave on the transbrake. A little more tweaking on the tune and get the 60's into the 1.5's and I think it will go 30's or maybe 20's.

Project thread for anyone interested.

Thanks.

I was able to bring it out Saturday and try it on the brake and with the DA at 1000' compared to near 0' on Wednesday I went a best of 11.58 @ 117.39 with a 1.66 60 foot. The converter is too loose for motor only and just won't come out hard. My last pass I left at 3800 (4400 stall) and had a 1.65 60 foot but had to wrap it up for the day. Next time out in a couple of weeks I should be ready to test the nitrous and see how the converter works then.

Went back out last night dialing in the tune and went 11.40 @ 117.88 w/1.59 60 foot leaving on the transbrake as high as the converter would allow.

Sounds like it needs more converter unless you are going nitrous.
