Stock ls6 motor traps 130+
We took a few shakedown passes in our c5Z to work the bugs out of the car. It wasn't pretty but we managed a 10.75 and 130 mph on a dreadful 60'. (1.668) due to lack of time. We barely had time to tune the car with alot of room to spare. This is only the 3rd full pass with the stock motor.
I'm estimating the raceweight to be around 3000lbs.
The car has ARH, 4.10 gears, fast manifold, CAI, and other supporting bolt ons.
If we have time to play around I can see this setup running low 10's on a 1.3x 60'.
GM makes a killer setup.

I saw this on the CF....and still seems un-F-ing real....you guys must get like
neg. 2000 DA....cause at even 28 or 2900 lbs that thing is closer to 505 horse
than 405. Even a FAST w/mafless ramair, EWP, UDP w/short belt, and headers
can't add a hundred horses no matter the tune. Mother nature has to love
those New Jersey Vettes........

guess ill be that guy and say BS! not that your car cant run those times, but that you're saying your "bolt-on" c5z06 is running with cars that make 200-300 more at the wheels and lighter than a heavy C5...
so you want us to believe your c5z06 is on par with an enzo ferrari that makes high 500's to the wheels and is lighter than you? gtfo!
with you trying to post that, you're basically trying to tell other c5z06 owners in a very non schalant way that "everyone is stupid and doesn't know how to drive and buying h/c for your ls6 is a waste of time because a silly intake and exhaust will give you a 10 second timeslip and 130+ mph trap speeds...."
now im all for z06's running high 10's (its been done before) , but for you and hioSS to sit here and tell us you pick up mph in the back end like cars that make waaay more than you do (and are waaaaay lighter than a vette or fbody) is not possible.
if you both knew something that no one else did, im sure you would've opened you're own performance shop by now because if you can make a vette/camaro run those trap speeds, you definetly have a gold mine of an idea and make a killer living.
but the reality is that you're running something else to get those trap speeds (n20,h/c) etc. and are unwilling to come forward and admit it and have everyone just sit here and swallow this.
let me ask you both this: so because your "untouched, forced induction-less" get such good times with I/E , your saying that with a small shot of n20 or a small amount of boost from a turbo, your car will be in the 8's at 145+?
man i wish either one of you lived out here; id love to shine up a bolt-on c5 z06 from a dig or a roll just to make a point. it wud be puppy kicking but it would be worth it.
no need to reply back as i already know what your reply will contain : " ...believe what you want, it happened!" , "...my car is fast and nobody can drive like me" "....you should've bought an ls6 instead of an evo..." " ..Jupiter and the north star were aligned correctly thus giving me optimal track conditions " and blah blah blah.

That's like us saying you kick puppies.
The vette is light, aerodynamic, and setup very well for the drag strip. They tend to mph very well compared to other cars in all configurations. In the pass above the car picked up 25 mph on the back half. It trapped 9mph lower than h/c and is probably 200 lbs lighter.
