Cherry is popped!
First race was against my friend's dad's accord (VTEC V6):
R/T - .394 (on a perfect light)
60' - 2.378
330 - 6.247
1/8 - 9.349@75.87
1000 - 12.023
1/4 - 14.243@97.17
I started this one by bogging it down. I wasn't quite ready for the lights, and basically dumped the clutch at probably 1000 RPM. The whole reason I left was because I saw him leave first. His R/T was a .041 (He's been drag racing most of his life) but I caught up to him at about 1/8 (He ran a 15.38). My trap speed was so low because I missed fourth gear and coasted through the traps.
Just goes to show you any idiot in an LS1 can beat a VTEC anyday.
Next pass was the fastest:
.391
2.203
5.988
9.214@77.94
11.799
14.034@96.14
Had a similar start as last time, but when I shifted into third, it came out of gear and I had to re-place it in third. Then I missed fourth and coasted through the traps again.
Final Pass:
.520
2.498
6.359
9.418@80.41
11.980
14.139@104.74
Bad R/T because I was concentrating on the launch. Apparently dumping the clutch at 3500 is not the way to do it (note the 60'). I spun my poor little khumo's through most of first gear and more than just chirped second. From there I took just a split second more to concentrate on where the gears were and was actually in fourth as I crossed the traps this time.
I have since read (here) to slip the clutch from 2-3k rpm and will definitely be working on this to get a decent launch. Any other advice is more than welcome.
good luck man,
and keep practicin
My first time to the track was on sunday in my M6 was doin about the same. (oh btw don't mind my r/t I was more concerned with my launches than r/t...)

gotta keep practicin.
