???????? whos got the quickest or fastest time on a stock 10bolt.. well not stock, i mean aftermarket gears posi whatever... just not a 12 bolt or 9 inch!

im wondering cuase im still on mine and hope to go pretty quick on it since me buying an aftermarket rear is not an option right now.

Our 01 Z had everything stock but with 4.10's installed and it has gone 10.8's with mid 1.4 60's. Now the new owner has been racing it quite often and it is still surviving, who knows how many passes are on that thing now.

In my third gen, with a 4th gen 10 bolt(bone stock with stock 3.42 gears) i have been as quick as 11.1 with a 1.69 60'.

as said, it was completely stock, even the cover, as was my completely untouched stock 4L60E, no rebuilds or work done on either.

hmm okay cool.. thanks for paving hte way.. i see no need for me to replace my 10 bolt just yet.. what rearend girdle would you run? im thinking about geting one with the braces, do you think that would help any?

i got richmond gears cuz there supposed to be the strongest out there.. honestly someday id like to see if a 10bolt would go 9.99.

btw im cam only 150 shot, but i got new 75-250 jets coming in, a lil something for the bottom end in the closet, and might get the heads ported......... but first im hoping it will hold together for me to get hte cam/150 shot into the 10.50's

i have the T/A Performance rear cover. Preload the drivetrain at the line if you are m6. NEVER wheelhop...if you start...stop the burnout as soon as you notice. In my current 3.23 rear, my only mod is th rear cover.....stock posi..axles...etc

im A4.... with only a 3000 rpm stall... but hte 4.10's might kill me, oh well if they do ill go with 3.73's and a 3500 stall i guess... i like the lil 3000 stall right now.. had a buddy go 1.60 n/a with it.. if i throw the 150 on top and she holds i might get it to 1.50 60ft without having to much shock off the line..

yea im guessing im going to get as light as i can, with as many mods as possible like tq arm ect to reduce wheel hop.. ive wheelhopped before, but not as of late, and i doubt it will happen much more thank god..

thanks for ur advice, ill be in touch

I banged out acouple more 10.90s the other night doing some shake down runs with the new cam. I was only cutting mid-high 1.60s because the track was slick but I don't see why the rear can't take some low 1.50s or better, it's been fine. I have Moser axles, T/A cover/stud kit, and I run a heavy shock proof oil. I'm still running 2.73s though, I think those 7.5" 4.11s are going to be pretty fragile. I wouldn't come out of the hole on the bottle with them.
