Default Noob ???. What does DA stand for

Just like the title says what does DA mean? When I raced last night I heard people saying the DA was 3300 and it was killing them. Thanks in advance.

Density Altitude.

It's equated from either the actual altitude you were racing at, or the conditions of where you were racing at (humidity, temp., bar., ect.).

As the DA get's higher, so do your ET's.

Also, it is the perceived altitude that your car is performing at due to weather conditions.

Yep, DA for racing is also a combination of the weather and the track's DA (or how far above sea level) at a certain time. This is why when people race in higher altitude places (like Denver at Bandimere Speedway or in California at LACR) you'll see e.t. factoring sometimes coming into play.

As mentioned above the lower (in some cases negative ) the DA number, the better cars run.

Sorry the link no workie. Try this. Read the whole write up but scroll down to weather stations and ET predictors for a real good explanation on how weather effects ET's.

My car is down at the moment so I won't make it to the track for awhile. Too bad I missed meeting you ONYX. We'll hook up when I can get one more fairly fast f-body to the track
