Just got back from the Worlds Fastest Street Car Shootout in Orlando.....
And all I can say is I feel slow now and I haven't even gotten my car running to full potential and on the full shot yet! It was so awesome, first year i've ever gone, every car there was so badass!!!! I want a damn turbo so I can go run with the big dogs and keep up, eheheh!
Only guys from here I saw there was Hardcore Motorsports, they had their blue vert T/A there and their Tube Chassis Silver GTO! Didn't see the T/A run at all before I left, but right before I left, the GTO went a 6.98 @ 202!!!!!!!

Anthony's car went 165 MPH to the 1/8 and 207 MPH to the 1/4. Those are new records for single turbo automatic cars.
With any luck we should be right there next to him once we get this car finished!!!

From: Gainesville, Florida # of drag strips runs: ?!?!?
Damn, I wish they could figure out a way to get this race on a weekend I could attend it!
Sounds like the air was good, and hopefully the track was hooking like it does when they actually prep it!

I got a PM from a local guy who went..........he told me the ET was 6.15 and the MPH was over 202 I just didn't get what kind of car.
Could have been that GTO? I worked all weekend, once again another year of a kaboshed plan to see this.
Derek I will be giving you a call in the near future to A) LOOK around the area to possibly relo there and B) to hook up a date for all of us to race at G'ville.

Definately, I am thinking Jan mid or late or even early Feb. I will probably try to get there twice.
But for the home prices and areas...........I'd like to see some or if you have in mind some nice areas to check out.
We are here for maybe 2 yrs..........figure June/July of 2007 relo to a new home and area near and excellent track.

I had to leave before the finals, but man what an event! I couldn't believe that the bubble for qualifying in the DR class was 8.65!!! I think the #1 qualifier was in the high 7's IIRC.
The final round in Super Pro Street was Shannon Jenkins and I believe Tony Gillig. The big dogs in the SPS class were all running mid 6's in the 215-226 range. I've never seen anything like this, and I can't wait for next year! Just an incredible three days of racing!
