i do.. local c5.. ported heads 4000 stall, maybe gears.. full exhuast... umm 7.40's on motor, 6.90's on 150 shot at 100ish
i would say with the right heads and stock cam u could dyno as high as a midrange cam and stock heads...

seeing as how you are supposed to build your cam around the motor, it is the way you are supposed to do it. just people usually hit the lesser expensive way first.

when i did the ported vinci heads on the wife's car, i already had the 1.8 accelerated lift rockers on the car. so, kinda not what you asked for, but here's the results anyway:
went from 13.144 @ 105.67 to 12.918 @ 105.67 untuned
dyno 333.4/337.8 to 350.4/351.7
then, after tuning, it went 12.822 @ 108.59 367.4/368.7

no problem. with that being said, now you see why most go cam first. cheaper alternative to net about the same power results. nothing wrong with going cam first. going heads, you keep the stock idle and driveability.
