Default Another first at the track!

Well, I went to the track for the first time. Had a blast, didnt bring a helmet so they made me wear a loaner helmet since I have T Tops and had to wear a pair of their Xtra Large Sweat pants because I was wearing shorts!! The helmet stank and the sweats had stains but I still had a freakin blast racin at the track!! Here are the results:
R/T 282
60' 2.149
330 5.737
1/8 8.646 @ 85.43
1000 11.130
1/4 13.248 @ 106.38
It was 86 degrees, Barometer was at 29.86, Dense Altitude was 58 and the Humidity was 54
I wanted a set of numbers before I put gears (3:73) and a stall (TCI 3000) in next week, then drive up to FASTCHIP and have them dyno it and put the fine tune on it. I have factory gears, 3:23 and a factory stall that stalls up to 1500 RPMs. I was running brand new 18x10 wheels and tires (295/35/18) and it only sliped once off the line and I think that was because I just turned the tires over once out of the burnout box to get the water off, the other times I did a very small burnout and they held with no problems. So......is this a good time, bad time, nothing spectactular....? What? You tell me because I dont know. I was thinking that with a stall and gears y 60' would improve dramatically as well as the 1/4, or at least thats what Im hoping for. Please let me know what you guys think. Thanks!!

Congrats on your 1st time to thr track. Be careful. Drag racin is very addictive.

Your time are up to par. Get your new mods on the car and go try her again. You should see 12's with the new mods for sure.

Good luck,
Coach

since you dont have slicks, when you burn out it will fling water up into your wheel wells and pull that water out onto the track

Helmet is needed for 13.99 and quicker e.t.'s.

Congrats on the times, I'd say good job

Practice is the key, and as Coach said Drag Racing can be very addictive.

Hell, it takes my money and most of my Saturdays as well..

I used to work the water box down at thunder valley. So here is a little tip. Depending on if the water box guy is paying attention or not you can give him a wave off on spraying water down or even better have someone that's with you before you stage up tell him not to put any water down. I know i would pay attention to the car and if it didnt have slicks i wouldnt spray fresh water down. But I havnt been to thunder valley in a while seeing how i am stationed in germany. But next monthe I will probably be there every weekend.I would still avoid the water box but this should help next time.
