Default Trick Flow heads in the 10s!

I went to the track (Montgomery Motorsports Park) last night (Friday 7/7/06) and ran the following with the new TEA Trick Flow heads. I am running my same ole 230/230 baby cam.
I can not say enough about the quality and performance of the Trick Flow heads. It has been a pleasure dealing with Brian and Mike at TEA.

With the addition of the Trick Flow heads and FAST intake I improved my ET by over .4 in the ¼ mile and by almost .2 in the 1/8 mile.

Driving around town neither you nor the driver next to you would never think you are driving a 10 second car. Startup (cold and hot), idle, throttle response, and overall drivability are excellent even in the 90-100 degree temps we have had in Montgomery lately.

Setup details are in the signature. All runs are made with the car setup just as I drive it with the exception of the skinnies and ET Street Drag Radials mounted on Centerline Convo Pro wheels. Race weight was about 3420.

My goal was to run 10s on the motor in the summer heat. I need to set a new goal!
I feel sure the car will go 10.75 or better in negative DA weather conditions.

DA = 1915
60'------1.51
1/8------6.97
MPH----97.93
1/4------10.98
MPH----122.26

DA = 1764
60'------1.51
1/8------6.96
MPH----98.01
1/4------10.97
MPH----122.11

John those are AWESOME numbers with a VERY simple combo. I think your success has a lot to do with the amount of logging you do and what you do with the data but no doubt the heads are great. I hate to ask but are you gonna spray a 9?? The answer is yes...maybe not yet but you will

Jeff – The staging lanes were total chaos. I hope they are a bit more organized in the future. Your car is an animal to run 6.50s and still need some tuning.

Thanks Jerry.
No N2O for me. My setup (transmission, stock rear) is just not built to stand up to the additional HP required to run in the 9s. I am going to have to stay NA on the stock short block for now. I do think the setup will run in the 10.7s in the cool air.

I ordered some trick flows last week from Mike, I can't wait seeing is my cam is slightly bigger without being monsterously sized, plenty of room to grow. I am expecting big things from what Mike was telling me. drooling to put a 100shot on it when the 12 bolt arrives next month.
