Default Got me an oil pan today

Went out to HRP today to run in a $1200 to win bracket race. My good buddy James and his wife Sheila, my dad, and I were out there having a great time.

First time trial I go up to the line knowing we have killer air (DA950). I was excited to finally get to run my new LME motor in air better than DA3000. I brought the car up on the converter, saw the third yellow, and off we went. The car went up, up and away. She was so high in the air that I saw the tip of the front bumper (a 1.40 60 ft on the back tires). She came down really hard, but the MadMan "save your ***" bars kept the damage to a minimum. Puliminary analysis shows just a broken oil pan. The pan is broke right at the very front crease at both sides. The block looks to be okay on both sides.

We will check it out to make sure that all we need is an oil pan and try to get back racing by next weekend.

I hope everybody else's race weekend went better than mine, but remember, a bad day racing is better than a good day working anytime.

Damn that sucks Coach. I really hope the damage is minimal brother. I gotta ask, did you lift? Is your front shock compression set a little on the stiff side or loose? Just wondering Coach. I have the SYAB's too. Glad I have them.

BTW, I never lift Short shift yes, but never lift

Check your trans bellhousing! ATVRacr just put his on the bumper killed th case too.

Brian do you do a SnapOn exchange warranty on the SYAB? ATVs lost the fight with 3600 lbs coming down from 16 ft altitude. Twisted and broken mess now drag radials seem to let the front end rotate up much easier than an ET Drag

Damn Coach, glad you only sacrificed the oil pan.

I've never pulled my front tires higher than about 12-13", but even those wheelies were a thrill. If I saw the tip of the car's nose, I'd need to change my boxers.

Glad that the oil pan looks like it's the only sacrifice.

More oil pans die this time of the year than any other. It's like everyone works out the bugs on their car during the summer and that first good weekend of air bam they are pulling 60 ft. wheelies. My dads car did the same thing only thankfully it never hit the bumper and had consistant 1.41's on the back tires. Wheelies are cool.

Been-there-done-that. Hopefully your's is nothing compared to mine - my oil pan hit the crank that push a rod into the wall that blew the **** out of everything. Now you see why wheelie bars are on my car and will never come off. These engines are way to expensive to risk.

Good luck. By the way Coach did you get any pictures of it? You can add it to the "ah-****" pictures.

I just keep my front end on the ground, seems like a lot less hassle lol.

Thats too bad Coach, least its the end of the year and if thats the only that got damaged its a two hour fix if that with a tubular k-member.

Bummer Coach about the breakage, but after your year, a little bad can be expected after all the "excellent" you've enjoyed!

No pictures I'm guessing??

No pics???

I'm betting they jacked up the track prep just to put you on the bumper and get the track champ back on the trailer

I'm betting all his competitors poured the VHT on the track and "waited in the pits"...

Got the car up on the rack today. Looks like the damage is a oil pan, front Windshield, and a bent header & a set of SYAB's.

I picked up a oil pan over the weekend(Thanks Tony). I dropped off the oil pan at LME last night for them to clean it up and the car should be running by the end of the weekend. Big time thanks LME!
