Talking I cut my first perfect tree.....(.000)

Once the video gets put on the internet I'll post it. I went to the track to race a TT Cobra that I called out. We ran three times, I took the win light twice. Here is the timeslip (track was not hooking at all last night)

Congratulations! I got my second one Saturday night at Gateway International Raceway in St. Louis. I wish I had a fast car like yours, it would add to the fun.

Thats awsome, congrats. A perfect tree is very hard to get on footbrake in a streetcar, many people never get a .000 (or.500 in the old days).

It's funny you say that, when I talk to my dad I have to put it in terms of .500....

And he said that he quit counting around 17 or 18 perfect lights. Dang bracket racers I do remember when they use to give $50 to the first person to hit a perfect light at Lakeland during bracket races.

Thanks everyone for the comments.

Great job keep it up now for the bad news.

#1 Try the other lane

#2 Your 60' tells me you got into something or that you're having issues with your launch

The great thing about your post is many drivers can learn from it. Please look at the 60' times and see how much it changes the total et of the run. There is a reason you race on the track not the street. When this driver concurs both the reactions and the launch he will have a faster racer. He will only have spent the money it cost to race. His car is now capable of beating a faster car than his. Two identical running cars, heads up racing reactions win the race. Thats when you have the most fun in my opinion.

You beat a TT cobra with just low 11's? Thats pretty sad for the cobra Seems like your car is running really strong though! My car when it had MT ET streets and a Yank SS4k stall was going 7.5xx's in the 1.8th. Almost same setup as your car, has granatelli lid and dynomax bullet muffler dumped, stock manifolds and Y piping though. Also I have 3.73s though. Stock suspension also. Former owner of the car had above listed mods and a 150 shot and went 7.0 1/8th mile. Keep up the good work and congrats on the perfect light, out here the light is still .500, my best was a .504. Congrats again on the perfect light and beating the TT cobra!

All three runs were against the Cobra, he wanted the right lane so I stayed in the Left lane. It wouldn't have mattered though. Both lanes were garbage. Dew on the track plus the track was Hot and gooey. No one was hooking. My first pass they had just sprayed the track. I went 1.61 60' which is about normal for me leaving on motor only. It went downhill from there. Second pass, I hit the nitrous immediately after the launch and blew the tires away, let out, then got back in it, thus the 12.1 @ 121 That was actually our only good race. Cobra spun to a 2.x 60' and then got in it. He just couldn't catch me in time. He went 12.2 @ 128. Third pass I spun on motor, which tells me the track was really bad at that point b/c I don't usually spin that bad on motor. And I agree, winning a race by r/t only is an awesome feeling.

track was poorly preped. his car is on 26" mt radials. it has been as low as 1.49 on et streets. we just have to work on the suspension now.

Well, you did good, you won, and you drive a Chevrolet.

You mentioned track conditions, thanks.
I took issue in the Mid West section, I am sure almost being removed, because there are sooooooooooooooooo damn many one run wonders with an et posted under the section THE BEST or some other crap.

Your car, same track same night same driver ran .500 different. That's my point. Lists are fun but there were folks ready to come kick my *** because of my comments. Again thanks, have you read any comments on the Mustang page about the race? Was it a friend or just someone you raced? When I've run a best of three I always wanted to change lanes.

My car is usually very consistent. The 11.2 run should have been quicker, I got all flustered from redlighting that I forgot to activate the nitrous until I was about 80-100' in to the run when I started to see the Cobra at my door and was wondering why he was catching me so quickly.
It was a friend that accepted the race, I couldn't get any other Terminators to run me. If you want to read the original callout thread it's here:
http://www.svtperformance.com/forums...d.php?t=391585

Once the TT accepted the race, I made a formal callout where everyone told me that I was going to get destroyed. This one is a bit longer, it's here:

Congrats! I know as long as I have been bracket racing, I only have a handful of .000 lights (or the pre-2003 season .500 'trees). Yesterday I had an .008, .009, .016 and .017 during eliminations, and I try not to kill the 'tree closer than a teen light during eliminations with a footbrake car. Good job, sorry to hear the track sucked. We had 148 degree track temp on Saturday at Gainesville!

Congrats, looks like it's time for you to go bracket racing.

I think I've only had one. One time bracket racing I was .002 and dead on for the loss
