Hey, look who's back. Bad idea telling me who you are, one push of the old ban button and that takes care of that now doesn't it

HEADS must flow like mad... 10k aint no joke and takes some serious valvetrain and oil control.. believable ? hell yeah !!!ecspecially when i've spun 8500 with a conventional 23* set of heads.. should be some impressive numbers coming up..

Yep, the car was down on Friday when I met Joe at NMCA. Good luck getting her all patched up.

Yeah we had nothing but issues with this damn thing over the weekend. Ended up breaking the candle stick on the bellhousing. We are not exactly sure how in the hell that happened but she is patched up and looking good. Good thing I have a lathe and can machine what I need.

no .... Greg tires of the fact he wasnt able to contribute to this board without someone beating him down while not being a sponsor when it is likely that maybe 1 out of 500 will even see a head from his shop via LS1Tech.

whoops..... but that is the truth. His posts where very informative.

No we are not planning on making a full hit until memphis. I really don't want to put to many passes on it as we are going to refresh about every 30-40 passes due to the rpm limits.

Matt are you going to the LSX event?

Amber.... what is the overall cost for someone who wants to run a similiar setup as yours? I understand you and Joe do the work yourself between rounds..... but how many passes do you make without pulling the transmission? How much more expensive is an all out racing "5-speed" vs a TH400 etc? I assume you can make 2 to 3 passes before rebuilding the trans? I am sure you go to the track with a few backups and put them in?

Cost on the engine or the transmission? We actually use a Stock Gear set T56 that has been faceplated. We do keep a spare with us just in case and so far this year we have not used it. On average it lasts 30-35 passes but we do tear it down after every track event to check on clusters, gears and rings. I don't use a 5-speed and I don't know how expensive a TH400 are so I can't answer that. I do however know a Jerico 5 speed with all the goodies is about $4000 and they go thru them 1 time a season.

During our NMCA weekends we average 10-12 passes so we on average go thru it that often.

Thanks,
Amber

Amber, The only Turbo 400 i would recommend is the 210 geared top of the line one from Rossler and it is about 5K. Should hold about anything if the sprag holds up.
