Default New Best & Blew A Hole in Header! (#6 cyl.)

Wow. What a night it was at the Street Legal Bracket Race. Cracked a new best record ET for the year and had a few "instances" after that. 2nd round of brackets I noticed my burnout was majorly sideways and that there was antifreeze on my side of the lanes. I tried to tell the staff but they said "go ahead, it will be fine"; so I relunctantly staged up and was ALL OVER the track, crossed the center line, and hit a beam until I just let completely out. Almost slammed by gorgeous green TA into the wall. Then on the final round for the win, when I turned the car on we heard a loud "popping". Opened the hood to find an EGR piece had blown off and left an inch long hole in the header. Fire was coming out of the #6 cylinder area! Now I've never seen THAT before!! Times as follows:

1) .010, 6.82
2) .060, 6.86
3) .027, 6.85
4) .083, 6.91 (right lane)
5) .025, 6.89
6) .010, 6.94 (let out on 6.85 dial)

common for the air and egr tubes to break of. I had to weld one of my air tube holes closed.

Congrats on the win. Now get her fixed so you can come down to HRP on Nov. 17th & 18th for our big Bracket Bash Race.

i've had that happen to me twice now. i wish someone was making race headers with no EGR back when i got these ones, i would have bought them instead.

Coach
I need a good welder to come to my house or I can trailer somewhere to get fixed but do not recommend cranking the car up until I have it "patched". Need more info. on the race on the 11/17-18 = I did not know I could come to this!! I was thinking about COTT on 11/24 but a bracket race with you all sounds even better!!

Happened to me last year, one side one weekend, other side a couple weeks later. They are 'race' headers now I guess
