Default Should i have done better??

I Took My 99 Ss Camaro To The Track Last Night. I Got A M6 Tranny In It. I Wasn't Getting Very Good Traction And It Was My First Time Racin It So My Shifting Needed A Little Work. And It Is Bone Stock.
Any Way I Ran A 14.5 First Pass And A 14.6 On The Second. So... Should I Have Done Better??
Any Help Fellas?
Thanks

Okay... I made two passes, here are the results

1st Pass:
Reaction time- .305 second
60 foot- 2.38 seconds
330 foot- 6.323
1/8 mile- 9.49 seconds @ 77.42 mph
1000 foot- 12.21 seconds
QUARTER MILE- 14.58 SECONDS @ 83.03 MPH
I raced an evo IX and smoked him I got him off the line

2nd pass:
Reaction time- .579 seconds
60 foot- 2.50 seconds
330 foot- 6.49 seconds
1/8 mile- 9.65 seconds @ 77.83 mph
1000 foot- 12.36 seconds
QUARTER MILE- 14.67 SECONDS @ 96.87 MPH
I raced another camaro. It was an automatic and the car was totally stock, like mine, but he beat me. I was a little asleep at the light, and he was just a little faster. I wasn't getting much traction either.

All in all. I'm happy with the numbers. It was my first time racing that car. but don't worry folks, all those numbers will soon go down

well your 60' is definitely struggling, and judging by your trap youre either down on power, shifting slowly, or youre at high elevation.

if youre spinning that badly stock try bringing your rpms down when you launch to around 2k or less. start modding that thing and get back to the track

sorry man but 14.5 is just horrible! 13.5-13.7 would be more of a goal to shoot for!

Thats what i was thinkin. Or even at least high 13s. i wasn't catchin any traction through 1st gear. that hurt me alot. i didn't even dump the clutch at rpms that high. my tires are almost 4 years old. they are starting to get hard. i'll do some mods and put some sticky ones on there and see how i do.
