Default Rate your 2007 Racing Season!

Since the 2007 season is over or close to shutting down for some (even my local track shuts down for 7-8 weeks for the "PROS" to rent/test), I and decided to add this topic & poll.

So post up and let us know how ya did! Anything you want to share, from:
a new best
to winning a round or two
winning your first race
slapping a friend around in grudge racing
breaking stuff

....well you get the idea.

I managed another great year, although I had my share of bad luck too with losing close rounds. But still more positive than negative

I tore my Nova apart at the end of last season, so the wife "loaned me" the DD Formula to race this season. 1 Super Chevy, 9 points races, DragRaceResults race in June and B.O.P.C yesterday.

Here are my 2007 race season notes:

- Captured my third track championship in the footbrake class since 2003 (1/4 mile points), but lost the runoff for the ROC spot at the ET finals.
- Borrowed a car that I had never driven before and managed to go four rounds and get my first 9 second pass last month.
- won footbrake at B.O.P.C. race yesterday, making my final round record 3 wins and 1 loss this year.
- Compiled a 32 win - 9 loss in rounds.

Okay, I'm done! YOUR TURN! Let's hear it, and don't hold back!

I had a middle of the road year. I started out great with a win and 3rd finish, then decided to start changing the car up to make it quicker. With that I was lost on the tree for a few months. Towards the end I got a couple runner ups and a win, then a cylinder head cracked, bending a rod, and wiping out a main bearing so it ended the season. I can't wait for 2008 though. Our Top Sportsman truck will be running and I'm ready to do some traveling!

Lets see. The high lite of the season for me was winning 100+ mile open road race.

Only thing I got to drag race this year was the Duramax(mid 15s) and the wifes car(consistant 13.0hs)

Bring on 2008 and LTx Shoot out!

I got my car this spring. I don't think it was a month after I had it I went to the track. Made some passes in the 13.4 range. The best pass I made this year was around the end of July. I went 13.38 @ 104.14. Reaction time was .5079 with a 60' of 2.03 spinning. This was without the lid/filter/bellow/Lca's/panhard/descreened maf I have now, full weight, full tank of gas, on a 80+ degree day, with bfg g force kdw's. I was at US 41 drag strip in Morocco, IN.

To sum it up, mine was good.

The Camaro had a decent first season, went from 11.38 NA and 10.1 N20 to 10.92 NA and 10.00 N20. 60's went from 1.6's on motor and 1.4's on spray to 1.4 on motor and 1.3 on spray. 2008 goals for the care are to run 10.4-10.5 on motor.

The Formula had a very short season, only got it out once.

I had a good year. Finally got to where I wanted to be near the end of the year, but it was a fun journey to get there.

Carnage: 1 10-bolt ring gear
1 pair of ET Steet Radials (too many burnouts lol). I had very bad luck with these tires. I never got good traction on the spray. Changed to an ET Street and all is good now.

Cant wait for next year. 9" going in and a bigger bottle.

I had a good year overall. went in the 9's in May then didn't race for 5 months due to alot of other things going on that took priority. got back in the saddle before the LSX Shootout, ran new bests. had some bad luck at the shootout Then car ran some nice numbers last 2 times out after that.

Nothing major broke at all, even drove it a couple times to the track and back to see what would happen and had no problems and went 9.80's doing it. Had a set of brand new tires fail on me which sucked.

Not a bad year overall, I had fun for the most part.

I'll say my best season ever. I finally got into the 10's with the addition of a th350 after having 4l60e issues in 05' and 06'. Then I continued to set new bests all the way up to my last pass of the season last week.

well, i broke the trans three times, twice thanks to G Force trans. clutch let go and broke the trans the third time. ripped my trans tunnel, crushed header primaries, cut a tire, put a hole in the rad, broke my dist. in half, cut wiring in half, etc... you get the idea.

on the upside, did Hot Rod PGD, got to run at a Pinks all out (didn't qualify), finally got Liberty Gears to build a trans with OE parts that works f'n great!!!!!

went from 9.27 @ 151.20 mph to 9.08 @ 155.07 mph....having fun with friends was my highlight and walking away with only a broken toe from the clutch explosion also a plus!!!!!

definitely bring on '08

All I have to say is we got the LSX Stock suspension record back with a vengence. Oh and I built the car in six days but missed the lsx shootout due to a faulty intercooler. Oh well 2008 is going to be fun

Ohio Boys had a GREAT year for sure, it started out slow with the new camaro working out a few bugs and getting the car sorted out. After we did we went crazy winning 6 races in a row, breaking wormboys OLD record, Defending our drag radial champioship at Milan, qualifing #1 at the lsx shootout only to have driveline failure, taking 2 cars to the final8 in orlando only to get screwed by the weather and the owner, and running a best of 7.79@189.59. Were stepping up our program some for 08 so we can try and keep up with those texas boys. Cant wait for 08

I went from an 8.7 1/8th to a 7.90 1/8th with a 1.77 60ft. Im still frustrated because I know I can get another 3/10 out of it . My 60ft should be in the 1.6 range.

I had an OK year. It started out great in Jan with a win in the GTO race at Bradenton and made it to the semi`s in Sportsman the night before. The next weekend I qualified #30 for the US Street Nats and had my fastest runs all weekend within .07sec on every run with my purple car ( went in debt for that car). 2 weeks later I blew the motor on the purple Formula running in the 1st Ultimate Street Shoutout and didn`t get the car fixed for 4 months.

I did good and finished 16th in the Summit points at Orlando in 2007 in my GTO , 3 racers ahead of me by 1 round. I did win alot of close races in the brackets and had a 22 win and 12 loss record.
At the end of the year I blew the motor on the purple Formula again at the World Street Nats but got the Red Formula running good after it had sat for along time and my friend Eric used the Red car for the last 2 events(sold his Camaro) and won the Championship for the Ultimate Street Shootout by 1 round.

This was "work the kinks out and get a consistant drag car" year, and it happened. The only setback was a bad pump in the trans. that made me forfeit the "TX Fastest Streetcar Index" at Ennis this past April. Also managed to break all 5 wheel studs while coming off the line at a bracket race-but still won since the other guy red-lit!

Highlights:
1) Making it to quarter-finals at HRP my "first time" out there. They were scratching their heads wondering who I was. Got intimidated by TXCAMSS and red-lit trying to get him on the light. That was an awesome race!
2) Runner-Up at the "Tx Fastest Streetcar Summer Shakedown 11 Index" at Ennis.
3) 3-time Winner and 4-time RU at NHRA Street Legal Brackets.
4) Enjoyed the LSX Shootout this October, ran my first 10.88 pass and broke my 1/8 mile record with a 6.81. Can't wait for next year!
5) Had something VERY exciting happen to me (can't reveal yet) and all should be seeing the results of it this summer.

Up and down, went 10.41 in March and have not been able to beat it. 10.44 is the closest I have come this past Saturday. But Just seems like I cant get traction anymore.

Going to call Madman today LOL There is still 2 weeks left, maybe I can squeeze out that 10.39
