Does it really matter? Coleman made the magazine, he has a fast car with a hydraulic cam. Just because nobody has given the recipe out makes you a doubter?? Its called not giving away secrets. Hell I have had 3 cars in GMHTP this year. All of them were faster than what was expected. Everyone we spent the time perfecting the combination. Its not just any one part on the car its everything working together INCLUDING the driver.

A 1.29 versus our 1.25 is a tenth at the finish line.

I know this, I never doubted this. Between Jugger and my car it's the same thing. But my statement was the valvetrain made no sence to me do to my own personal experiance, nor did going so fast at 3110 with a Fast intake. And guess what I made the magazine too, look at the HP tuners add a few pages down.

Well I choose to not run wheelie bars as they take any skill out of driving the car, let me guess he has an air shifter too?

No air shifter. He shifts it. I can tell you it does have a hydraulic cam with Morel lifters. He has a Thunder Ported FAST 90 on it. What more can I tell you other than the combo works. The same combo in a 3580lbs car ran 9.90s with 1.28 60ft so it does work.

I'm glad you guys found a good combo. I just could not control my valve events with more springthan you are running. The story is very misleading and I had questions is all.

Everything working INCLUDING the driver? So much for the DRIVER... He needs sissy bars, I mean wheelie bars to drive it. That must be a "Dirty South" thing too.

When it snows we don't have to worry about it going on the bumper.

If I brought my car down there to break the stock internal record, could I sleep & store the car in the new shop?

They fucked the info in the article up. At the time of that pass it had stock cpu tune by Thunder, TEA ported Fast 90/90, TEA 2.5 LS6s, hydra 250 cam, 403 ls2 block, ATI 8" with a braked 350, 4.30 gear, 30' tire and suspension by MADMAN. No electronics. I know Coleman and Gerald personally and will vouch for the car not the info. Gerald is one of the main reasons my car hauls ***. He knows his ****.

Anyone who has been drag racing for any length knows that some guys are just better at seeing small differences than others. If you lose your setup man, you'll definately slow down. Look at Warren Johnson, lost his crew chief and now half the time he can't qualify. Every year you have got to get faster and quicker or someone else will go right on by. It's hard to get to the top but harder to stay there. Five or six small tweeks that only gain you a few hundreths add up and suddenly you have a full two tenths and several mph over the field. Those sea level tracks are a couple of tenths faster than the tracks in the middle of the U.S. just because the weather is always better. Going from where i live to Louisiana or Houston generally nets you two tenths. The torque converter is another place where most average running cars are loosing a bunch. A good converter can easily gain or lose a couple of tenths.

I run a ATI 5500 with the two step set at 3800 as thats all it can take with no sissy bars. I know all of this stuff thats why I'm as fast as I am.

Bill what was your raceweight on your best pass?

So we talking about the difference between a 9.4 and a 9.8 pretty much?

How about 1 tenth for the 60ft, another tenth for raceweight, and another for DA?

Does Coleman race at NPR?

Well as another comparo, Val's carbed Firebird (won the LSX shootout) went from 9.6's to like 9.3's over the last 2-3 years, I think he was running a 6.0 iron block stroker with a modded SB2 intake and a single dominator. The Hawk has over a 427ci with C5R heads. Val I think has C5R heads too.

So what do folks think a 3100 raceweight hydraulic cammed 402-408ci can do, I'm sure 9.5's right?
