New Top Fuel Motorcycle Record set today
Larry "Spiderman" McBride reset the Top Fuel Motorcycle record Today in Valdosta, Ga. McBride went 5.79@only 235 (must have shut it off early)
They said he ran 201 mph in the 1/8 on the run. Truley amazing Gonna be interesting to see what it ill run on a full pass ! You guys have to remember these guys don't have roll cages around them, just a set of leathers and a helmet for saftey ! These guys that ride these monsters have steel ***** !
Here's a older pic of the bike...... This thing is off the hook.....

Just FYI, I believe it was 201 mph on the 5.86@213 pass with the early click. Tony Williams (the starter) said he thought it was "only" 195 mph at the 1/8 on the 5.799 pass. She's got a LOT more in her... It definitely looks like it laid over on the 5.799 pass on the top end, 235 mph is definitely low for that pass, especially at silky smooth Valdosta.

edit: Hawk, you must be the "crazy guy" Larry was telling me about with the built up Firehawk. I remember him mentioning you when we were discussing my LS1/RX7 setup a while back.

I think his suit is awsome looking
I love back in the older drag racing days cars had names and were more than a car, with cool paint etc...His suit reminds me of those style of cars
The Ricans out there are still giving names to there cars etc

A company out of Fall River, Mass. called "Vanson Leathers" make Larry's leathers. A great buch of very talented people in the leather industry work there.
Allen and Matt from Vanson, have been big supporters of Larrys efforts through the years.

Actually its Vanson Leathers. They actually give the rider a new suit if he crashes in one of theirs. The factory store has lots of old racing leathers on display along with all the new stuff. Top quality stuff still made by skilled American workers.
