Track Results With My New AFR 205 Setup
I went to MIR last night for the first time with my new combo. The weather was pretty nice with a DA of around 800ft. The car is an M6 with a stock LS1 shortblock, AFR 205s, a custom Comp 230/232-112 cam, and an LS6 Intake. The rest of my mods are in my sig.
Launch RPM for all three runs was a 4500 dump off the 2-Step. Race weight was ~3475lbs.
The first pass I had way too much air in the tires (16 psi cold)
60' 2.03
1/8 7.836
MPH 95.68
1/4 11.928
MPH 120.97
The second pass I let the tires down to 12 psi hot.
60' 1.665
1/8 7.326
MPH 96.13
1/4 11.416
MPH 120.77
The third pass I let them down to about 11 psi hot.
60' 1.674
1/8 7.352
MPH 96.05
1/4 11.443
MPH 120.80
I am pleased with the results. My prior best with my stock hand-ported 853s and TR224 was 11.8X at 118.XX on a 1.73 60'. I think this combo may have more MPH in it as my tune was VERY lean. Still need some work but I thought I'd share my results for someone who may be considering a similar set-up. I may have a video up sometime later but my buddy didn't do the best job filming.

Yeah, thanks guys. I definately have a lot more work ahead of me. I really need to get this tuning issue worked out and then get out to the local 1/8th mile track where I can work on my 60' some more. I can get a ton of runs there vs. the three I got at MIR last night. It's a obviouly a great track and they run a very efficient program, but there's just not much you can do when you have that many cars to put down the track.

Looks like I'll have to put a little weight in the back to slow it down for the 11.50 index and/or play with a few nitrous jet combos to get as close as I can to the 10.50 index.

Thanks. The stang ran 12.33 @ 110, so he didn't stand much of a chance. We had almost identical reaction times of .581 (me) and .584 (him).
Yeah, I kinda handed that guy a win by screwing up my dial-in. I only had the first two runs (11.92 and 11.41) to determine my dial. The air kept getting cooler and cooler so i dialed at 11.35, thinking maybe the car would go 11.39 or so, and hoping my oponent would give me the rest on the tree. Well, my RT was .604 and his was .636, so I had him by .032 there. Unfortunately, I went 11.44 on a 11.35 while he went 10.44 on a 10.40 dial.

Hey man, what times are you expecting with the N20? Also, did you trash both tranny's with the TR224 cam you had before? I guess those 4000RPM clutch dumps are not good for the tranny. LOL!!!

Yeah, both trannys ate it with my old (your new) set up . The second one was pretty much my fault though. The two best "cheap" drivetrain pieces I would tell anyone to buy are:
1. A driveshaft loop!
2. Relocate the torque arm off of the transmission tail housing with something like this http://www.speedinc.com/cont.cfm?cid=C0000362 if you have a stock length torque arm or get a shorter arm that has a specific cross member mount.

I think I see a problem with your front shocks - the front-end drops immediately after it lifts. This may be why your ET Streets need less air. Mine dead hook with 18-20 psi.

A high RPM voltage drop problem I've been chasing (finally fixed) and now a gashed front runner has kept me from doing any suspension tuning at the local 8th mile track lately, but I plan on stiffening up the fronts next time I make it out. At some point, I want to get them re-valved as "Rs" so the compression will be fixed firm, but they are basically still brand new so I really don't want to have them rebuilt till they need it. I really wish I would have bought R's from the get-go, but I'll make these work for now. Just need to try a few things.

I also have front QA1s. I decided against R-series because I wanted to preserve stability on the street. I have found that, even with equal compression and rebound, shock adjustments still significantly change launch behavior. My traction during launch is much better (with higher tire pressure) when the front shocks are set to 4 or 5 than when they're set to 3 or less.
