Nice times from a stock truck! A friend of mine put a muffler on his TBSS as well as a home made cold air setup and tuned it. He was running 8.40's in the 1/8th which should be good enough to get that 13.2 you are wanting! He didn't have the efans or ported t/b either. Also he was full weight, 2wd, stripper...

I'm going to do the following and then run again, though I bet the air will be a tenth worse by the time I run again, though I'll try in the fall too. I will install:
-ported OEM TB
-pcmforless e-fan setup and f-body fans
-i8srt8 CAI
-Do some tuning, but will KEEP torque management
I'm not gonna get greedy and take out tq management, maybe cut it back a bit, but I don't want to replace the trans with a truck that only has 16k on it right now.

There are two reasons for that SLOW DOWN!
"There are fewer Rain Forrests - and Global Warming HANK"
Dew is normally associated with what? A heavy atmosphere and lots of moisture or somethng else? Surely you've noticed serious Bracket Racers?
Low Budget Bracket Racing operations will have a piece of wood up against a tire as they wait for the next round of racing. On the wood are several gauges. The gauges relay what? Some folks are good enough and know enough about thier car to dial their racers et, round after round. Ie no need for the internet. Then all they need to do is react at the tree. A Jakes Dad Rule "Two identical vehicles - one always has a better driver."
So here is a question for you - John. If you were to Bracket Race what would you dial with your T/Blaser? You're an Adminstrator you should know this.
It's a trap John. The trap is your vehicle will run differently the next time out, right? That's the reason they allow you several trips down the track before you dial your first ET., the same night you go bracket racing.
My B/P is normally 126 something over 70 something. But it goes wild when I read about folks asking how their car should run with these mods. Your stock T/Blazer differs almost a full second from worst to best with no mods, right? So, any answer anyones ever gives to one of these questiona isn't really wrong, or right is it?

Nice runs PSJ! I still have yet to drag mine out. I bought a set of fans, but need to get the install kit yet. I have to look at my IAT spark tables yet also.
I would pull out some TM and add some pressure. These things really come alive tuned and the trans is key. You can make the tune real mild or even stock on the trans durring part throttle driving and open it up for WOT runs. That is how mine is and it is great. Drives smooth as stock durring normal driving and nice, firm, quick shifts durring WOT.

Yep - got to love it. Don't give a damn how fast it is. Someone has seen one faster.

I always told everyone my cars were always stock. Heads - Cam - Balanced -Convertor - Bigger exhaust - different gear - chip etc. etc. Who can tell from the stands or when the hood is down?
So since John won't reply or hasn't read my post. If you drove this vehicle and almost a second existed between the best et and the not so best et. What would you brackt race the car at? Post your et.

Very nice! It's good to see someone try and get the best time they can before mod it up. Too many people (me included) jump immediately to the modding and it never seems to run what we think it should, lol.

GXP I think I had read of someone Atco guys hitting 13.6-13.7 in some great air, and I believe it. Better traction and better air and trucks like mine would run 13.6's for sure, I'm sure when I ran it was like 1500-2000 DA.
Yeah Screamin in years past I started throwing parts on cars before I had run anything respectable as a baseline, so I'm not doing that anymore with any project cars.
I'm predicting 13.2 with CAI, e'fans, tune, porte TB, and maybe a better set of street tires. With DR's it might even hit a 12.9.

My son's ran 13.52 @ 101.4 with the stock converter. A good Vigilante 3200 converter and a better transmission is worth about 3-4 tenths. Playing with the stock tune seems to add quite a bit. It's pretty easy to get from 13.90s to 13.50s by adjusting the tune. It will also add about 1.5-2 mph. I'd leave the rear tire pressure alone, drive around the water, and do a small burnout. You ought to see how much faster these are on a small nitrous hit. A engine run produced a 13.28 @ 101.5 and with a (100 shot) it went 12.13 @ 112. That aftermarket lock up torque converter really works.

Atco is 80' above sea level. GLD is over 650'+ above sea level. Bring the Atco truck to GLD and it would be a dead heat. They all came to KCIR a month or two ago and none of the East Coast hot rods could get out of their own way. Mostly high 13s and low 14s. One guy from Texas ran 11s and was the fastest TBSS there. Weather is everything, now you get a truck like "never enough's" and you have reason to brag. It ran 10.6x at Memphis and 10.21 on a cool day in N.C.

Of course now I want to run 12.9's with a stock converter and without headers, but we'll see. Stock exhaust looks like it's 3 inches in diameter. Perhaps I should also do an electric cutout.
