After a year of frustration - Finally 8's !!!
After a very frustrating year with tranny problems all year, crappy hot/humid weather, and very poorly prep'd track all year -- finally - finally. The conditions were a little better. "Only" 88 degrees today, track was 120 -- but after sunset, the track cooled a little. Finally got the SS to hook a little better. Broke out on my first round of elimination (yes I bracket race my turbo SS) -- ran a 9.10 on a 9.12 dial. Knew that things were ripe for 8's. Decided to run a test-n-tune run. My tuner was there.. bumped it up to 22lbs. Nice launch, smooth easy trip down the track. Maybe, maybe not. I've been there numerous other times. Got the slip:
60': 1.406
1/8: 5.80 at 123.8
1/4: 8.986 at 152.7
I didn't jump into the 8's but the time slip still started with an 8. That's all I cared about. No head lifting; no tranny or converter problems. I am very happy that the goal was finally reached.

Thanks again everyone
I agree - it sucks for us that do not have an NHRA track nearby and get our license. Wish they would allow a "weekend" brake on license --- make it NHRA or IHRA license required. Oh well, that's not going to happen
Big thanks for my builder/tuner - Joey at Excessive.. He spends numerous hours at the track and after hours getting out cars ready for the track.
