I have over 1,200 passes with an m6. Spinning hurts your mph period! With that being said, my best ets and mph came with an extremely small amount of spin, maybe half a revolution of the tire. This keeps the motor from bogging. I always heard people say spinning helps mph, but in my experience they are full of ****! My .02

But if the speedo shows 40-50mph your car might only be moving 25-30. At the track, it wouldn't be going by what your speedo says in your car, buy by how fast it's actually moving.

Sorry to confuse you with the facts! Timeslips don't lie. I index raced it for four years and knew the car inside and out. I had a few dumbasses try to tell me spinning gave you more mph, but being at the track two or three times a week proved them wrong smartass!Maybe I should have said " in my car I lost mph when I spun"

your right, that is what you should have said insted of making yourself look like an ***.

last night i ran a 12.68 @114 with the burnout pushing my linelock so i never got the Hoosier QTP's hot at all. not even smoke. 1.94 60' spinning off the line.

then i got them nice and hot and ran a 12.39 @110mph with a dead hook and a 1.72 60'. remember, time slips dont lie smartass.

I guess you didn't take the time to read my post completely. If you deadhook you will lose some mph. Read what I said dickweed! I'm done with this post!

your not going to lose 4mph and gain 3 tenths compared to spinning moderately. not that this helps your case with posts like this one.......

I think people are trying to compare spinning MPH vs a run with a bog MPH.. On a clean launch you should get both mph and et, I would think

I think it makes a big difference if you spin a little like a 1.7 60' verses spinning alot and 2.2 60'.

i had to trim in front and behind my wheels for what i deemed acceptable tire clearance.

i don't believe a 26.5" mt will grow 1 inch in diameter, if that is what you meant. i usually factor .5 - .75" of growth maximum. this pretty much jives with the rpm on my data log to a tire size/gear ratio - calculator.

excellent mph! i honestly think you can get the mt street radials to hook! if you don't mind playing around with it to work.

The only time your going to gain mph with spinning depends on what you compare it with.
Listen people, if you compare a slight spin run with a dead hook run, you will probably gain mph. If you compare a slight spin run with a half/full spin run you will lose mph on the half/full spin run.

If you compare a slight spin run with a slight spin run, you probably wont pick up any mph. Its not that you GAIN mph because you spin, its that you GAIN ET/LOSE MPH when you hook.

Its logical sense, not hard, doesnt take a rocket scientist. You cant make a perfect mph run, then spin more and get a better time. Its all in reference and in the way you compare it.
