Got off work last night around 4, got the trans back in by 5, and this morning I took it for a ride. Few concerns though. I have a "service vehicle soon" light on now, that I never had before. Is that just because it doesn't sence the 4l60e in the car anymore? Also it was missing quite a bit, and loading up a lot..could that be because I don't have any exhaust on it at the moment, just open headers?

Tune is probably going screwy if you have the car runnign with open headers because there's atmoshpere getting to the rear o2's Best thing to do at this point would be to get the thing retuned as you'll need an M6 flash to make all the tranny BS go away, and to get the car tuned in open loop so all tha o2 related crap can go away, that way if you want to run it with open headers it won't matter.

Hurry up with it, as I'm dying to see what that converter does in your car!

Hopefully some exhaust takes care of it. I'll get on that this week, and hopefully get it tuned soon. It's been too long since I've had it out!

I hear ya. My car hsn't moved since last october, I have 1/2 a mind to toss some valve springs on it (yearly maintenance) and just toss a fogger on it and blast the thing with a 300 shot and see what happens.... I just haven't got the time right now

Drove it to work today. Miss fire issue is not as bad as it was. I'm guessing maybe the Computer is just pissed that it can't find a 4l60e anywhere, who knows.

You need a tune to ditch the 4L60. Also, it would be a good idea to throw some 18" extensions on the headers. This will clear up some of the issues with the O2 sensors getting free air

Better idea would be to open loop tune the car and ditch the O2's completely... set the a/f where you want it and leave it be. In his case, and with all cars that are primarily being built for performance you are better off not having the electronic crap to interfere with the tuning.

Electronic stuff like o2's are great for fuel economy... but once you put a non overdrive tranny in a car with a big cam, you're tossed that out the window completely and need to just do the same with the rest of the fuel economy related crap.

It has an exhaust on it. It's getting a tune next week.

Man I wish my paint looked as nice as your car. Mine's had a tough life.

So, yeah, when are you hitting the track?

Yeah I'll make a couple passes with it this year. It's not going to be 100% where I want it, but such is life when you're a young law student. Hopefully by spring I can have a fogger on it.
