TEA Stg 1.5 heads go 9.87 @ 138.9
The durability testing of the stock LS1 exhaust valves is complete! We went out to the Camaro/Firebird gathering and clicked off a 9.87 @ 138.9 first pass in our 97 C5 Corvette. This is with a 5.7 with pistons and rod bolts, through the mufflers, stock crank pulley, full length belt, stock GM graphite head gaskets and o-rings in the heads, 1.47 60' This is the Stg 1.5 5.3 heads right off the production line, nothing special done to these AT ALL, no special prep, no bull, this is still with the STOCK EXHAUST VALVES that our competitiors said would never hold up in a high performance engine, 11.0:1 compression, TNT 150 wet shot, 100 NOS dry shot, 28" hoosiers, 3.42 rear with the hardened shaft, vararam, LS6 intake, SY3500, Rossler trans, stock suspension except for poly bushings in the rear, racetronix pump, CCW wheels, 232/240 .595/.609 114 LSA (G5X2 clone) COMP Cam. To all those that helped, thank you all. To all those naysayers, kiss my bootie. Next step LS6 heads and a 9.50 goal, still stock displacement.

As far as the valve springs we were using a 978 comp spring @180 on the seat with 430+ over the nose with no issues ( oh and the stock lifters and rockers too).

The heads are o-ringed, the block is not.
The car made right at 400rwhp unlocked.
Unbelievavle is correct, stock rods, stock crand, with arp rod and main bolts.
We have 2 stages, dry 100 out of the hole then, 150 wet on a timer. So 250 total.
