Get a Sawzall, air-cut off tool, and a lexan windshield!

With a single quad setup, the guys on here had to notch the cowl back to the windshield and STILL the can't get to the rear float adjuster.

It will take ALOT of cutting and fab work to go to a tunnel ram.

Also, what kind of big block do you plan on running? There are alot of guys here going quite fast with only one carb on a 582" or 632".

if you have the money and dont want to cut your cowl i would run a fuel injection setup with either a single plane and an elbow or if you really want to keep it low profile then a sheet metal intake but thatwill cost you a lot of money. im in the process of diong a bbc turbo build and dont have the motor done so i cant post pics but you'll see soon. basically ill be running a single plan intake with a low profile elbow and for a drive setup will be a mandrel with just the dry sump pulleys and an altenator. no power steering and no ac

If that is your car in your avatar then nothing is required really other than dropping it in. The mounts should be close to the same if you have an aftermarket k-member for your SBC. If not you will need to get a k-member or fab up some new mounts. You will have to cut your cowl off all the way back to the windshield and hood clearance shouldn't be a problem with that big *** hood so you can run any kind of intake setup really and have room for an air cleaner no prob. You have it made really if you are running that hood.

yeah but i think he was talking about possibly a dual carb setup. thats almost like putting a 8-71 blower in as far as how far back your cutting the cowl. for dual carbs you would have to cut a couple inches into the down and windshield. single carb would fit with no issues other then cutting the cowl right to the window

If you notice, the rear bowl on my car is partially under the windshield. Since the picture was taken, I had to rotate the carb so that it would be easier to tune and adjust.

Good luck running two carbs, especially on a taller intake!

^^^ hahah as i said in the previous post its like trying to get an 871 blower in there. you have to cut back into the glass or lexan and cut the cowl out. i would run either a single carb or stick with a efi setup and a single plan. what kind of horsepower do you plan on making with the car? what size big block do you want to put it? forced induction or n.a or nitrous?

make sure and get the motor to set as low as possible with motorplates and push it as far back as you can....

my carb sits about 1" under the cowl even with a double cross bar nitrous plate thats about 1" tall

I installed a lexan windshield and I had to cut about 3/4" off in the middle to keep the rear float bowl from touching

I know nothing about carbs but can't it just be turned sideways? I know I have seen carbs like that on dual carb setups!

Thanks for the responses guys i was asking about the duel carbs because the motor i am buying has a sheet metal intake with two 1050's and was just woundering if it would fit.i think i will stick with a single. I have a dominator on the car now so i think i will stick with what works.as for headers i am haveing a set made.you can see some pics and vid of the way the car sites now on fquick.i will post as more progress is done such as motor plate, mid plate, update cage to 25-5,and motor. Once again thanks for all the responses and info it's greatly appritiated.

use a single carb or your going to be cutting into the window. should fit under the hood though. if you use a lexan window i would go for it and use the dual setup. any questions or anything let me know your not to far from me.
