if its a 300 dollar unit, they arent up to the quality of there more expensive race converters.
spend the the money once and do it right.

Send it back and get them to restall it for you.

I know a guy that ran a converter set up for a 6 cylinder in his 540 that ran only 2 tenths slower than with a converter I let him borrow that was more set up for the car but it broke (and mine broke ).

We run spragless converters in our cars, got tired of breaking them. Haven't had any troubles since.

Give them a call and see what they say. PTC will build that convertor to hold whatever you can throw at it. They will restall it for $75...any upgrades would be additional of course....you cover shipping.

I dont see a reason to buy a new convertor when you can have that one built for a fraction of the cost.

i should have said there is a night and day difference between a ptc budget converter and ptc race converter. didnt mean to sound like i was talking about other brands.
ptc is good stuff.
i run a th350 tranny from them and love it.
great prices and quality work.

As mentioned, at minimum a restall is needed. Higher HP #s mean a better build converter, but it seems you've already found out what you needed. Good luck, 900 ponies hooked up will get you a quick pass!

900 crank power will get you a 5.70/9.0 pass.
