Right now I have just over an inch between the front of the tire and the 1/4. So if I'm adding an inch all around I should be really close. I don't see why I couldn't just adjust the rear back with the LCA's about 1/4" and be OK?

I don't think you will be able to get around triming the front of the rear quarter panel.

Here is a pic of our car with 30" slicks and the stock length 12 bolt with 15x10 and 7.5 BS.

Here is a pic with 30" slicks and our Strange 12 bolt narrowed 3" on each side with 15x10s.

So why can't you just move the rear back to get clearance?

You may be able to, just be careful how much you move it back. The driveshaft is pulled out of the tranny the same amount. Just a thought.

I do agree that trimming the rear plastic is much easier than jacking with the front metal part. Just leave room for tire growth.

I will be using a radial, which (according to MT) doesn't grow. Correct?

Well, it'll be tight. I should have the tires early in the week and I'll start cuttin'.

With my rear/tire setup my wheel sits about 1/4" further in than stock. Not sure if thats good or bad yet...

My 295 Hoosier DR's grow plenty. In the front of the rear tire I have over 1" clearance with the car sitting....yet for some reason the paint is missing off the front of the wheelwell.

I think the radials still "whip" around. I have pushed my axle back enough that I have only 3/4" clearance in the back and like I said over 1" in the front.
No paint is being scrubbed off the back even with the tighter clearance, but she's making shiny metal in the front.

Hmmmm? I can't imagine that. I could see maybe a 1/4" during a burnout at best, but a full inch? I'd make sure everything in the rear suspension is good and tight.

FWIW- I don't have more than 1/2" in front of the back tires and I'm not rubbing at all using the Hoosier Radial slicks or the 29x10.5Ws.

Might not be "growth" but the tire may be pushed and bulge out from the rim at different points during the run.
Take your car for example, not superlight and puling the whees up the tire may bulge out toward the front of the car during hard launches because of all the weight and force being put on the contact point on the tire and bulge rearward during hard deccelaration.

Good idea.....yeah, now that you say that, I bet it is happening during the launch. I've got some good stills of it about 15' out and its distorting the tires pretty good even running 18 psi in the DR's.

Running a spool? Some times the rear will move closer to the front when you're making a turn...spool shoves it forward and the slop in the lca's etc will allow it to move. Moves back when you straighten up.

Stuck them on there today. No 1/4 panel cutting required! In fact, I only extended by LCA's by about 1 full turn, maybe 3/16"? I have about 1/2" between the tire and 1/4. I did have to cut my rear bumper some, not alot though. It was already cut for some big M&H's I had (28"). I need to drop it a little now. I have to cut some material out of the wheel well, mainly the area that is front of the spring. Other than that, a little hammering will fix the rest. Its tight, but I think it'll work. I'll post pics when my dumbass wife stops taking my camera to work.

My wife is still gone. Bitch took my camera. Its MY camera, WTF? Her goddamn blackberry has a camera, WTF?

Anyway, did a little cutting with the plasma tonight, got 90% of it done. I'm still hitting at the front at about the 9-10 o'clock position. I threw my 3/16" spacers on just for grins and everything clears, so I'm close. These are big *** tires! I'm not sure how I feel about them yet. The car sits pretty damn high now. What I might do is mini tub it, and get a wheel with like 7-7.5" BS and tuck these in more. Then I can drop the car over it.
