Default How to Read Drag Slip?

ok, so like most people, looking at timeslips I see those 3 numbers: 60 foot, 1/4 time, 1/4 MPH, but is there a way to STANDARDIZE THIS?
For Example:

What if he ran the Reaction = -.058 during the 12.115 1/4? wouldnt that make it a 11.757?

Say someone ran a 12.7 with a 2.0 60foot time.. then ran a 12.8 with a 1.8 60foot time? would i be fair to say: if he ran the better 60foot during the first run, his car is good for 12.4-12.5?

IS THERE A WAY TO STANDARDIZE TIMESLIPS?

general rule is .1 down low is .2 on top .2on the bottom is .4 on top ect.. , reaction has nothing to do with you time ,you can have 2 cars identical and if one leaves first he will win

also there's variables that come into play if you have a better 60 but spin down the track times will reflect ... but if everything goes according to plan a better 60 will result in a better time

so the reaction time is subtracted from the recorded time in a sense? like if only one car in running and for this case say its a 2 second reaction time then he crossed the 1320 at 14.2 from the time the tree turned green, his time slip will say 12.2? is that right?
otherwise my statement on reactions times still holds true

no the reaction time is how fast you trip the beam that starts the timer at the starting line,it has no effect on your time

unless you bracket racing your reaction time will have no affect whatsoever on your 1/4 mile time.

Even if you are bracket racing the reaction time has nothing to do with your ET.

that clears up alot then lol...
so reaction time means nothing when comparing 2 slips
and .1/.2 in the 60ft is .2/.4 in the 1/4

so its safe to say that if a car ran a 12.6 with a 2.3 60 foot time, and the car is capable of a 1.9, that its an 11 second car

^^^ in theory , with a manual car there's always a variable ( the clutch , shifting )in an auto car there much easier to dial in

your 1/4 time doesn't start ticking till you pass through the beams when you launch. your reaction is the amount of time between when the green light lights and when you pass through the starting beams.

+1 you could let the light turn green, sit there for 30 seconds, then launch and your 11.9X car would still go 11.9X

Unless the car that left first redlights, hits the wall or crosses the center line... The "first or worst" rule applies in that scenario.
