Gotta convince the wife this is a good reason to spend some $3k on, shipping the car $1500 packaged deal, $600 ticket for self, $400 ticket for wife (she's stationed in NY), then the hotel, etc....$500. So, time to seek some help. I could always try to ask for $2500 and have her stay home!

dude, you could totally do this on the cheap.. !pass seat mod, make a bed thingy, and 3 days rations. pay the 1500, ride in the car.
tell the wife she cant go, drive to the event, empty tank, sleep outside the gate, and race the next day.
considering you break nothing, you're out 1500 + 100 bucks gas, you get to race, end of story.
the extra added bonus: you win the race by filling the competitions tanks w/ 87 octane..

Hmmm........ I'm gunna check up on the Roll Cage stuff first b/c I REALLY don't want to have to do a 10-point cage b/c I really want to keep my A/C and heater so I'm gunna have to do some research on getting a cage built b/c I hope to be deep in the 10's I might have to send the registration in around mid or the end of December.

Alright! Now that the magazine in on the newsstands, the Gen III entries are pouring in, most of 'em in the 10s. Stay tuned to see who will get to come race.

well you've got 2 entries from Florida that should be there by now, unfortunately my high 12 second formula won't cut the mustard, so me and a friend entered our 70 and 71 Novas. Hopefully mine will be seeing some juice by then!

Seems interesting the more I think about it.
Rereading the rules, each car is limited to a total of 15 gallons of 93. I think some folks are going to run out of gas. Some built cars will use more than a gallon of pass per pass, plus some folks will burn 1-2 gallons rolling around and idling their car, so really you get 10 gallons of gas for 30-50 miles.
I find it interesting but I would have to pulley my car down for 93 octane and buy a full set of DOT tires so I'm a spectator at best. I would say that a Gen III entry would need to run low 10's to be in the money. I can run low 10's on pump gas is my guess.

If a car can't get better than 4 miles per gallon then it's not a street car anyway in my opinion. Fuel injected cars will have a mileage advantage for sure!!!! I think a BIG BIG block with juice and light weight will win it. How about that ZZ572 crate Motor with about a 300 shot. That would be about 900HP and in say a 2600-2800 pound car or less that would be TOUGH to beat.
