Can I cut out the middle and side tubs with the gas tank still in the car? I looked under there yesterday and the middle tub looks awefully close to the gas tank... Also, if the middle tub is cut, how do you keep the stock gas tank?

I'd get a fuel cell but not about to spend that kind of $$ yet...

i hope u didnt cut the gas tank strap mounts when u cut out the center tub. strap mounts are spot-welded to the center tub

havent got that far yet but what id do, is drill out the spot-welds for the strap mounts and bend them out of the way so they wouldnt get cut off by accident

just drop the tank, drill the spot weld for the rear straps that go to ur middle tub then that all u have to worry about.

Here a pic of mine, notice the tank staps still hangin there.

I see... Are they strong enough to hold up the stock tank?

^ yes they will be fine.

might bend alittle since the middle tub isnt there to support when the straps get cranked down. but other than then u should be fine

I’m interested in doing this mod as well. I really would like to tuck my turbo up and out of the way and off the ground and sight. Looks like the best time to do it is whenever I get the $$ for an S60 rear-end.
