I don't have them installed yet but I have the coilover assembley assembled and ready to go on the car.

What in particular are you looking for?

I would like to know what they look like together compared to the 5069 shock and I need to know how you install them at the top. Do you use the factory spring cup at all.

What I was told by strange when I called them is you only use the upper shock mount and the "dog bone" ,shock insulator and thats it. The way the spring is shaped the top part of the spring slips on to the upper mount.

I've been trying to talk to some other folks about this but as far as I can tell this is all that goes on the assembly. I asked strange directly if the spring cup and dust boot goes on the assembly and they told me no.

Hopefully someone will chime in and correct or agree with me.

I went with the 300lb springs.

I know someone on this board has an actual set of instructions from strange. Hopefully someone chimes in. Otherwise you could always call madman.

I have the Strange single adjustables and QA1 springs. I would think the installation is the same.

This is the only set of drag shocks I have ever owned, so I don't have anything to compare them against. I also have not driven my car on the street since I have installed them. My car wouldn't hook so I installed the Strange shocks, LCA relocation brackets, and a BMR drag sway bar and now it does. So to me they are excellent at doing what I bought them for. For the money I would say that they are hard to beat.

I have the singals, and use the stock springs in the stock upper bushing. I htink with the 2.5 you use the upper alum cup that comes wioth the shocks. Had to mod the stock lower spring cup. Get a wrench, and the bearing kit too. Also mounted the **** in and its easy to get to.

Nice. I see those use the spring cup up top. The ones I am wanting use the 2.5 spring and the small cup that comes with a coilover. I need to see (know) how they attach at the shock tower since you don't use the upper spring cup.

I saw some pictures in another thread of the setup you are looking for. I ran across it while searching for info when I was about to purchase my shocks. The shocks still mount into the upper strut mount, but the springs have the cap instead of resting in the stock mount location. I don't really like that because the weight is supported by the center of the mount, which has nothing to support it. I know that's not a very strong piece because the center bushing tore out on one of mine while removing the stock shocks. It just seems like the spring would push or pull through the rubber. I'm gonna see if I can find that thread again.

Thanks, 5.3LJIMMY I really appreciate all of your help guys. Would you go with the shocks that run the coilover springs or would you go with the shocks that use the spring like the GEN F qa1 spring. It is a drag car only.

Its a v-6 hardtop manual window car.

No front bumper support.
Car stripped and rewired.
Chromemoly kmember and arms
Old school SBC.
TH400
9inch rear.
