Default 1,417 HP Naturally Aspirated

You guys check out teh current issue of Hot Rod mag? Sonny Leonard screwed together a 11:1 802 CI motor that made 1,417 Hp on 89 octane. Granted the motor was a trillion dollars to build, but that is just plain cool! He also has a 892 CI motor that made 2,072 HP naturally aspirated

Just thought I would share in case you guys have not seen it yet

yeah, when you read up on it, all you can do is just shake your head. Way cool stuff to be sure. In another thread we were talking about following the path less traveled, and Sonny Leonard is definitely in that category.

That may be before tax haha. Remember the heads alone are almost 15k. Block is billet so I am sure its 10k or a little better.

Yeah, that motor is just plain fawkin sick!!! I do agree....$89K for that matter does seem cheap (relatively speaking) But, I guess with all the Outlaw 10.5 guys making 3000+ HP with turbos, starting out with a 2000+ NA motor is a good starting point for nitrous

With a ZR1 you get a car to go with it!

Who are you kidding in a 3200 lb car the 2000 hp one will go into the 7's n/a on pump fuel.

Of course it will have to be a chassis car being that the motor is physcially about twice as big as a normal BBC LOL.

Ya put a few foggers on that with race fuel and you can go 6's with probably very little effort.

All about the $ at that level.

Thats BEFORE nitrous hahaha.

Put it in a chassis car and run 6's pretty easy then spray it if you want....

For the cost of a ZR1 you can buy a 6 sec car turn key...

Well what kind of HP do the pro stock guys have? Aren't those guys limited to 500ci? They got to be making close to this motor in question.

They make around 1400hp at 500ci. They rev so incredibly fast and their chassis is...perfect. Sub 1.0 60' times.
