Help with aerospace rear drag brakes
I know some of you guys who frequent this section must have some experience with these brakes. I was trying to install these last night but ran into some trouble. The rotors hit the mounting plates when they're all the way in. Can someone tell me what I might be doing wrong? Am I suppose to shim it out?

sounds like a manufacturing problem! i have the wiilwood kit and the hat fit perfect?
i would give aerospace a call and make them fix it! nothing worse then spending a lot of coin and it not working.

I had absolutely no problem with my aerospace brakes. They went on the car easy, ya put a spacer in the housing, big deal, take it apart, call burkhart and get the shim you need, it's not that big a deal. Takes no time to put the spacer on, just slide the axle out, put the spacer in the housing, and put it back together. Simple.

Nah, I'm not gonna compete in that. I do want to make it to the TX2K9 though. I'm only going to have one more weekend off before the event though, and I still have a few things I need install. It's very frustrating, lol

How thick are the spacers? I just did some measurements and my offset is pretty dang close to the 2.750" listed by aerospace when my axles are pulled out tight onto the retaining plate.
It seems to me the spacers are so that the axle has less play in it from where the bearing hits the retainer to when the bearing hits the inner edge of the housing end.
JL if it isnt tooo much of a pain in the ***, could you measure the rotor hat depth with or without the steel rotor?
Mine seem to need about 0.25" to fit right

I have the same brakes on a Strange 12 bolt and the rotors are 1/8 inch from the backing plate.I see you have a Moser 9 inch,my bet is your axle flange is a tad wider or the axle itself is slightly closer to the backing plate,making for no clearance.Your gonna have to space out your axles to get the correct clearance.Yo might get away with spacing out the axle with a bearing spacer,Or you might have to pull out the axles and have a longer locking ring installed to space everythig out further.

i believe when i pay good money for new parts, they should have already been tested and shouldn't have to be "modified" to work! a little tweak, yes. but this is a obvious design flaw!
i guess some of us belive in getting what you pay for!

I believe manufacturers think that if you have a car at this level that you should know how to adjust small **** accordingly. Its called fabrication, and I promise you every fast car has some level of it done.
