I wonder if CE is making them and summit is repackaging them.

The fullsize guys that lower trucks use a summit shock that is a Doestech which is about twice as much in price but they are packaged in a summit box.

Those summit ones don't say they will fit a late model F-body... Is it wrong? These have the same specs as the Comp Eng. ones but they say for 83-88 firebird only or 67-68 wtih multileaf only... ?

I cross checked with the Comp Engineering shocks and these have the same applications as the Comp Eng. 2700 shocks. I looked at the install guide and even the settings are labeled the same on these vs. my comp engineering shocks... Looks like the cheap just got cheaper fellas! have at it!

^they don't carry fronts for fourth gens... nor does comp (as far as I know). For the fronts your choices are still QA1, strange, afco, kyb, etc...

cool thanks for the info!

Only thing that sucks about them is by the instructions you can only adjust when the shock is off the car correct?

Also for comparisons sake about what type of ratio would the stock shocks be in terms of like 50/50 or 40/60 and such?

I'm not sure what the stock shocks have for a setting... Either way, yours are most likely very worn and have different characteristics anyways.

That is the one downfall of the comp shocks... However, just set them on 50/50 (everyone has the best results with that) and leave them... You'll notice a good improvement for sure.
