how do the summit or the competition engineering rears ride on the street? Anyone running them with lowering springs? They say for drag use only but just wanna make sure they re cool for the street.

I've only riden on mine a couple times so far and they feel ok. I'm guessing they're just gonna make the rear a little more jumpy when you go over bumps and stuff.

I run mine in the Firm (50/50) setting, they are defn more stiff on the street. The ride is fine though. I am running them with stock rear springs that have been cut, and Strange SA's up front.

FYI 50/50(R), 60/40(F), 70/30(XF). A 50/50 setting would be like a normal(stock) setting.

So the point of these shocks is only to be able to stiffen from the stock rate if the stock setting is like a 50/50 as you said? I figured the point would be to soften the rear for launching, is my theory backward? I'm a drag suspension newb still...

I called summit and asked what the setting are their shocks

R 70/30

F 50/50

XF 40/60

I also looked on competition engineering website for their settings

R 50/50

F 40/60

XF 30/70

How do you tell where the notch on the summit shocks are? You can turn them one way and they keep clicking but dont click in the opposite direction. You would think they would click three times and stop for the different settings but they just keep going.

In the directions it says compress the shock all the way, turn it until it clicks, then just turn it until the little mark matches up with the setting you want.

I got a pair of the G7700 summit shocks and they both are fully collapsed... I clicked the 50/50 setting.. but are they supposed to extend? Or do I pull them out and then install?

Pull them out and install.... The setting is just a dampening adjustment... It does not determine the length or throw of the shock

Sweet looks like I am going to get some of these shocks as well, probably throw on a lowering spring since my car looks like a 4X4. Plan on running the Strange single adjustable coil over on the fronts.

I just ordered me a pair. Hopefully they work good on a lowered car. I already have a 1.59 60' on my sagging stock shocks.

I just put Strange DAs up front with 300# springs, and the CE 3ways out back. The rear rides alot stiffer than stock but tolerable on the 50/50 setting Im also running stock rear springs.

Im currently running Strange singles and 275lb springs upfront with Summit socks with 1.5 coils cut off the rear springs. Shock set at 50/50 and ride is ok for me. It does hit hard on the big bumps but, thats the trade off being lowered some I guess. I think im gonna put stock rear springs on and only take 1/2 a coil off and do the heater hose mod.

How does it sit with 1.5 coild cut off? Do the Summit shocks look like a stock shock but painted white?
