Competition Engineering Rear Drag Shocks?
I thought I found a couple threads on here about CE rear drag shocks, but I can't find them now. I need new rear shocks and I thought these would be a good option. I just want to double check.

What I worry about is that it doesnt allow as much adjustibility as other shocks such as QA1, AFCO, Strange etc etc but maybe those cars cutting 1.3x 60's just so happen to like that shock setting the shock has avalible.

I made a post on this a year or two ago... do a search under my name.
General consensus, great shock, paying a lot more for a better rear shock only seems to have limited advantage especially at the horsepower level the average ls1 guy is running.
Make sure to not cheap on stock front struts and springs, huge gains to be had there. I say get the CE, set them on the 50/50 setting and don't worry about them again. Lots of other suspension work that can be done with the cost difference of QA1, AFCO rears, etc...
Of course if cost is not an issue, hit up one of those companies...

Good to hear!
2 years ago my car dead hooked on 26 inch tires, last year I changed to 28 inch tires and couldn't get the car to hook a bit. Switch back to 26, dead hook. Without a good shock up front you just can't get weight transfer and setting a bigger tire out back will work against that as well.
Needless to say I just picked up a set of QA1 R series fronts for my car this season!

My stock rear shocks are really worn now though. So much so that the rear wheel well is starting to rub when I have the 28" tires on. I'm pretty sure thats what the problem is at least. I know when I first started running those tires for the first time last season I had no rubbing issues. By the end of the season they started rubbing when I hit bumps or made tight turns. The new rear shocks should help a little.

I have them in the rear of my ta. With a 3.50 gear, and the car running horrible i was getting low 1.7 60 fts on a m6 turbo car with stock ws6 wheels, and 275/40/17 et street radials.
This year i have strange coilovers up front, and a couple other small things. I should be 1.6 60fts, and with a 6 spd i dont think its to bad. When i go auto, i think 1.4's 1.5's should be doable.
For the 90 bucks for both of them, i dont think you can go wrong.

how much better are would these shocks be for launching than a old set of shocks with 115,000 miles on them? that bottom out on bumps, obvioiusly worn out. seem to transfer pretty good.

You won't be sorry, they are a great shock for the money, I know of a few NHRA Stockers into the 1.20's with them.

Seems is different then is. You want the rear suspension to hold its ground so the front can pivot off of it. The "squat" effect you are feeling is not a good thing for racing, although it usually does feel like the car is transferring weight and some guys do end up pulling alright 60' time with this style of a setup.
