Default New bracket/index/pro test and tune car for 2009 almost done

Here is the new hot rod, less engine, will be getting the short block here in a few days and I'll finish it up. After selling my last LS car I was going to build another old school BBC or SBC car but you really cant beat one of these things for an all around easy to build and fast car. I will be using the same basic procharged powertrain setup as my old TA that went 8.90s so power isnt a huge issue. I will mostly use this for local 1/8 mile bracket racing and 10.0 index 1/4 mile and 6.0-6.50 index 1/8 mile plus local message board test and tune days and what not. The old setup was deadly consistent and reliable at 9.0s in the 1/4 so this one should last forever at 10.0 or so. I just didnt want to deal with an 8.50 cage this time around but it will easily be capable of running low 9s with good gas.

Like the last car I did, most parts were purchased from LS1tech sponsors, I tend to buy things from all different ones to spread it around a bit but here is a quick list of everyone who shipped promptly with no hassle at all:

Exotic Performance Plus (really wish they would change the name, our female UPS driver gives me dirty looks whenever she delivers a package from them )
Kurt Urban Performance
EFIlive
UMI
SJM
Wolfe
Nasty Performance
Madman
BMR
SpeedInc
Texas Speed
New Era
Lingenfelter Performance

It always amazes me that in two months you can order all the parts over the internet to build a complete 9 second car and throw it together in your garage. FWIW I paid for everything, never asked for a deal on anything so no 'special' treatment from anyone and was always treated well by every one of them. Looking forward to having a little fun with this one, turned out pretty nice.

What is taking so long! Get that thing done, it is time to going racing! Will you have it ready by March 21, 2009? DBN and I will be heading up to London, KY. or Bowling Green, KY.

Still waiting for the short block, its done and just has to get here. It will be a couple weeks once it gets here so the 21st will be a little close. We'll see though.

Pretty much the same as the 347 in my old TA. LS6 block/intake, stock crank, howards rods, diamond pistons, AFR 225 heads, 224/227 114 cam, 1 7/8 headers. That was the same overall combo that went 9.17 @ 149 with the D1SC and 8.92 @ 153 with an F1A blower in my old car. This one will weigh similar or maybe a little less.

i always get aggrivated at you KP for making these cars sound like they come together like eating cake... the more i talked to you in the past years the more info i found out about your history with cars... you are by no means a beginner or a even "10 year veteran" at building cars... you have many more years than most people on this site, which is great! But thrown together for you is a bit more time consuming for me/us who are not as experienced as you.

i just hate it when real "newbies" come in and read your threads and get a hard-on thinking they can put together cars like yours in a matter of a few days and expect the same results... then they post and whine and wonder what happened.

i on the other hand love seeing your builds and what you come up with.... its never the big stuff thats hard to do...its the little stuff that no one sees thats sooo time consuming and frustrating...

anyways... that was just for the newbs that read your threads.... not at all intended to be disrespectful to you KP.... just hoping to crush a few dreams of the new comers... lol

Not really, the only thing I will use over is the blower, SDCE bracket and body. Not sure what 'hard stuff' was done already?

Its a moser M9 from EPP.
